Do Men Still Wear white tennis shoes?

Go for comfort! I'd rather have DH look like a dork than be a cranky-pants because his feet hurt.

Hey All!

I'm trying to get my husband some more "hip" shoes to walk around at Disney. My girlfriend (and I think she is right) states that the white athletic shoes/tennis are not in style....:rolleyes1

What do you all think?:confused3

thanks everyone!

Hey Brunette,
I usually buy a pair of white walking shoes for my trip, Reebok or New Balance or whatever. I prefer white, they go well with summer wardrobe, you can wear em with anything. :cool2:

Hey Bullseye!!

Yeah, I just went on ASK MEN dot com, and they recommend various kinds of shoes, white included. You do make valid points.

I was just having this "discussion" with DH. I bought him a pair of jeans from Aeropostale. He is 42 and has a nice physique. I bought him a pair of jeans that a younger guy would wear and they look great. When he put them on with his white new balance I was like... um.... not so much. So I was thinking of buying him some Vans but i know he would not wear them. So, I guess it really depends on what you are wearing with said sneakers and how it looks.
The good thing about DH is he really is a good sport and would wear them if I told him how much i love them on him;)

I think you've hit the nail on the head. White athletic shoes with (most) jeans ala Jerry Seinfeld.. umm..no. However, with shorts, it is more than likely okay. However......

Tru dat! For me, if those ugly Crocs clogs is what kept my feet happy at WDW, then anyone around me would prefer I wear ugly shoes than be cranky. When I get my crank on even I don't want to be around me! :rotfl:

The croc flip flops are very comfy and cute. I have a link to them in an earlier post. Absolutely when your feet hurt, your whole body hurts. We all need to be comfortable.

LOL! I totally agree with you there. I see a lot of men in sandal type shoes and flip flops too while wearing shorts.

Agree with you on the croc flip flops. I used to wear them as they totally saved the bottom of my feet. However, I always would get blisters on the tops of my feet, and gave the Teva mush flip flops a try. They are the bomb diggity! I finally got a pair of Croc flip flops that don't have that rubbery top, and use them as back ups. :thumbsup2

DH kept buying white sneakers, until I pointed out a printed ad showing this older guy, modelling some nice elastic waist pants. :rotfl2: He was wearing DH's sneakers! He's never bought another pair!

DH doesn't have plain white. He has white pumas that have a blue swoopy with some red, and some blue asics with silver on them. My 72 year old father has plain white tennis shoes, though :rotfl:

Just got my first pair of Teva mush flip flops... like walking on marshmallows! Love them!

i have a few pairs of these

I'm guessing that all of this fashion advice is coming from women who wear the most repulsive looking footwear known to man...Crocs. Carry on and keep pretending. :) popcorn::
I don't wear Crocs. I do however wear flip flops of different brands and Tevas. Athletic shoes are too hot for me.

this thread is so funny. before our trip my DH wanted new white sneakers like the Reeboks he used to wear in his 20's (he's 39) and I couldn't find anything. At one store the girl laughed while telling me they aren't in style anymore :) I found a pair of Nikes with a small sliver of silver on the toe, and I think the silver is ugly but he wore them and said they were comfy. I told him when I was shopping for them that I couldn't find them because they went out of style in 1994.

I don't get it. The kids around here wear white athletic shoes all the time. Maybe it's a different style?

I ordered DH a pair of white Nike lites from Kohls.com, and they were delivered today. They are all white, with the blue Nike emblem on the outside, and on the heel. DH will wear them for dress at Disney.
