Do little kids like Biergarten?

I will have a 5 and 4 year old on our upcoming trip, and the only ADR of ours that DH is really excited about is Biergarten. I'm worried my kids won't have many options there. Do they have any picky eater/kid friendly options? Do your little ones like eating there?

Last time I was there the MOST ADORABLE 2-3 year old girl was having the time of her life dancing to all the music. When the music stopped and the guy started talking, she crossed her little arms and waited impatiently for him to start playing again. We enjoyed her as much as the entertainment!

As for food choices - relax, it's Disney. They are used to picky little eaters and you will definitely find something on the buffet that they will eat.

So yes, I think your little ones will enjoy it.

The first time we went my kids were 3 and 5. They are picky and did not eat from the buffet. We were not charged for them except their drinks. We did feed them right after we left and I think I had some snacks to hold them over. They really enjoyed the music and dancing. One suggestion is to bring a peanut butter and jelly or other food in with you. This is what we plan to do on our next trip. While some may suggest that the restaurants don't want you to bring stuff in, they allowed us to do this since it was for our little kids. Probably because they do not offer separate kid meal choices. I say go and have fun!

We went with my 7 year old, 4 year old and 21 month old. All three loved it and found plenty to eat.

We're also from Wisconsin, which has a very strong German heritage, so the flavors were familiar even when the way of preparing them may have been different.

That's the one restaurant that I'm looking forward to the most too!! Must be a WI thing. That's the only restaurant I actually contemplated making two ARDs for our trip, and may just consider it still, maybe one lunch and one dinner.

My boys aren't picky at all, however, sometimes they'll just be stubborn and in those cases, I'll just try to find the plainest protein offered and they will usually eat that.

I heard there's dumplings at dinner (dreaming about those!!) and spatzel, which is like a thick noodle, would they eat those? My motto is "if in doubt, feed them noodles" and it usually works.

I know they have Mac and cheese and mini hot dogs and other that I can not recall.

Do they have any fresh fruit on the buffet? I'm thinking maybe rotisserie chicken, potatoes, and fruit would fill the kids and I up?

I'm sure they will like the environment... noisy/music/dancing... the food was my only worry.

Biergarten is one of the most picky-eater friendly restaurants at Epcot. The food is fairly mild and not too "weird."

Kids usually love the entertainment and the dance floor!

My oldest DS LOVES this restaurant! He's 6.5yo and the first we went there, he was almost 4yo. He likes the salmon and sausages and their kid options. They also have a pretzel role that he likes.

My youngest is almost 3, so this past June was his first experience there (actually eating anyway!). He was in a mood, so he didn't eat much, but there were options for him...had he not been tired and grumpy.

Both boys love the dancing and entertainment. It's a "must-do" on our trips.

Thanks! Could you elaborate a bit on the "kid options" you mentioned? I've been looking up this restaurant for awhile and haven't seen any kid options at all, just that kids eat the regular adult options (sausages, kraut, etc). If there are a couple kid options as well, I can set my mind at ease I know my kids will eat the rotisserie chicken and potatoes, but not sure if they will fill up on those alone.

It is not a huge amount of things--but no place at Disney does..
I have taken my now 4 year old there 5 times soon to be 6... he loves it...
he will sometimes only eat Mac and Cheese other times everything..
They have a cold salad bar, a lot of breads as well... and if they like nothing else the desserts will work..
a lot of things on the menu sound German but they are not
like Cold cuts, Tomato salad, macaroni salad.... Hot dogs a few that come to mind

I went in Dec 09, and while we loved it , there ARE NOT all that many kids options.There was a Mac n Cheese dish, but it was not like the kids mac n cheese they are used to.There were little sausages that could pass as hotdogs and that was about it.HOWEVER- My 6 yr old loved the sliced sausages and the Chicken schnitzel( which was like a big breaded chicken patty).My daughter also LOVED the pretzel bread

This is one of my kids favorite places. My DH and myself went just the two of us during the F&W Festival this past October to scope it out. We agreed our kids would like it. They had chicken, mac&cheese, fish, fruit. They also have a band and the kids can dance. Here is a picture of my son clapping listening to the band and of my kids dancing. They absolutely LOVED it! After eating at Biergarten a few times with picky kids of all ages, I really think its not the best choice. The last time we were there (Nov 2009 with boys 3,7, and 9) they really didn't like the food on the buffet. Since I'd heard they would do special request kids foods, we ordered 1 order of chicken strips and fries. They took almost an HOUR and the kids were starving and ready to leave.
They do always enjoy the entertainment, but for my picky boys, its just not worth it.
Good luck with your decision. Its hard to know how each child will feel, but I do have to say, it is definitely a FUN place. I really enjoy eating there myself.

My dd5 became a picky eater this year. She LOVED Germany. We went this may and I swear I saw reg mac and cheese done at far end of buffet near the fruit, jello etc.they might like german "hot dogs" I have found when I don't assume they will hate the food they are more likely to try (on a good day)You never know what your kids may like even if they tend to be picky.My kids liked the escargo in France this year...go figure . I wouldnt miss a fun experience just because they might not eat. Who knows maybe they will have so much fun they will want to be German for the afternoon.

It was our DD5's favorite restaurant of the trip, even surpassing CRT and Akershus (and she's a princess fanatic). She absolutely loved the dancing and making friends with the kids on the dance floor and at our table. She's a pretty adventuous eater, but there were several kid options, including mac & cheese, the chicken you mentioned, and I seem to recall some other options, as well.

I'd highly recommend giving it a try! It truly is a lot of fun for the entire family.

My picky eater, then 4yo son loved Biergarten. He ate rolls and mac and cheese and something else that I can't remember (sorry!). DH loved it as did my non picky eater daughter. I thought it was pretty good, but didn't care for their wine selection - too sweet!

My DD who is now 7 has loved Biergarten for years, it is one of the places she requests. She would make her stomach pop on "pretzel dogs" (mini hot dogs we put inside the pretzel rolls) if we let her. She also likes the rotisserie chicken, pork roast, meatball looking things, chicken schnitzel, mac & cheese fruit and other desserts.
