Do Laundry on Embarkation Day?

We'll be staying at the Polynesian for 3 days before we leave for our Cruise on Nov. 10. I' ve read that the laundry room at the resort can be a nightmare (especially since it's NJ week with lots of families & kids).

I hate to pack 8 days worth of stuff for 4 people (ugh!) and would like to be able to do a bit of laundry - what about hitting the laundry room on the Wonder as soon as we get on board - put in laundry, do lunch, put it in the dryer, etc. all before the lifeboat drill.

Thoughts?

There was a lady doing laundry in the Deck 6 laundry Thursday afternoonaround 5:30--she was the only one using the equipment. Don;t know if you would have time to complete laundry in the time it takes prior to lifeboat--the check-in line this trip (10/3-10/6) was really slow, so by the time we got on board, raced to Palo ressies, and ate, it was about 10 minutes prior to the lifeboat drill.

If you're among the first they let on the ship at 12:15, you shouldn't have a problem. Remember that your luggage will be delivered sometime before 6:00. That would be the only problem I could see.

I actually spent the morning in Nassau, the first full day and threw some laundry in when we got back on the ship. Then I went to my spa treatment, then put my laundry in the dryer. I spent some nice quiet time at the pool and took it out of the dryer around the time I was getting ready for dinner! Perfect!

Are there hours for the laundry rooms or are they 24 hours?

Laundry rooms are open 24 hours. I did laundry late at night after my DW put our DS to bed. Spent the waiting time in the Internet Cafe.
