Do I win worst mother??

When my oldest DS was in 1st or 2nd grade I was obviously over-tired and woke up one morning convinced we were late for school. Woke him got him dressed and a poptart and off to school to realize once we were there that we were an hour (at least) early. Boy did I feel bad. Especially since I'm sure I was super-cheerful (not) that morning with my "Hurry Up's".

:lmao: Been there done that! Had DS up, showered, dressed and out on our front steps waiting for the bus. After 45 minutes I came in to call the bus company. Luckily the number was above the calendar and I saw that it was SUNDAY not MONDAY.

My dd17 at the time, was standing in my WEDDING with barefeet. We packed up everything and headed for the church. Didn't notice until it was too late that she didn't have any. Not many women (girls) wear a size 11 so borrowing was out of the question as well.

I can beat the barefoot wedding story...My niece (9) was the flower girl for her Mom's wedding (my SIL). She had a fancy long white dress, fancy shoes, etc...but guess what? NO UNDERWEAR. My MIL was furious but we thought with the floor length dress, no one would know right? During the reception she was out on the dance floor and started doing CARTWHEELS! :scared1: Oops...lets change out of the fancy dress into the skort playclothes, OK?

I can't tell you the last time that I laughed out loud!!!!:lmao:

but the "commando" story and the "skort" story just cracked me up to no end!!! The picture of the two left shoes is also really, really cute...

You're ALL great Moms! A sense of humor counts for a LOT! :thumbsup2

I haven't forgotten to put things on my kids, but I have forgotten them for myself. I got my kids ready to go to a special Christmas breakfast at our church, they looked great because we were having our picture taken there. Got in the car, and as we're walking inside, I look down at MY feet and I've got 2 different shoes on, and they aren't the same color. I just claimed Mom amnesia.

This thread has me in tears from laugnig so hard. My twins are two and I just know my days-a-comin!

That is one I fear will happen to me. My youngest (3 1/2) is always taking her bottoms off and leaving them in the bathroom when she goes to the bathroom. It is obvious when she has shorts/pants on but the other day she had a dress on and was standing by the door ready to go out when I ran into the bathroom for myself and saw her underwear. I'm certain they would not be happy about a little girl wearing a dress with nothing under it at her school. Her preschool teacher last year said if the girls were wearing dresses/skirts they had to wear shorts under them. So I'm sure comando wouldn't fly very well ;)

I teach pre-school, and I'm pretty sure that this has happened to all of the teachers at my school at least once! That's why we always keep panties and spare clothes in our closets!:goodvibes

Good one! I took all 3 of my kids to get haircuts one Saturday morning and realized as they all piled out of the van into the parking lot that DD (age 6) had never gotten dressed that morning, she was still in her pjs!!! So we all did an about face and went back home for her to get dressed. I'm sooo thankful I noticed it before we walked into the salon, can you imagine?! Close call!

All I can say is that not to worry your kids will forget about it when they get older I know cuse I have a great memory and I can't recall my mom doing any of those things to me and I am sure she has

I was just thinking of this thread today. This morning, I brought DS2 to Stride Rite to get some new sneakers. The sales associate measured his feet and told me that his feet are a size 6.5. I looked at the sneakers that he wore into the store and noticed that they were a 5.5! The poor little guy has been walking around in shoes that were a full size too small.

Has anyone else dropped their child off at daycare and taken the diaper bag to work with them thinking it was their purse?

When DD was about 3 or 4, she was fussing about brushing her teeth. I sat down and held her while I brushed her teeth complaining that she knows she has to brush her teeth, stop fidgeting, blah, blah, blah, while she was fighting me the entire time. I later learned that she had that hand, foot and mouth disease and had blisters all over her mouth. I felt TERRIBLE! I couldn't apologize enough, poor thing!

OMG!! I loved the military Dh in the slippers - I've totally been there before.

With the princess shoes - I've given up on stopping those along time ago. DD6 has worn them so often she can run full sprints in them. The higher the heel the happier she is.

I constantly have the "bad mother stamp" on my chest for one thing or another. However the way my kids dress is now out of my hands because they get themselves dressed. But trust me there are days they come out of the house wearing things I just shake my head over. DD6's favorite outfit is usually a cheetah top, with matching cheetah skirt, some off color stretch pants and hot pink cowboy books. Yeah she's a star. DD9 is usually wearing colors that don't match and dress shoes with sweatpants. Yeah she's a winner. I just look the other way and smile.:3dglasses

Nine times out of ten neither has brushed their hair - which makes me crazy because DD6 has cowlicks all over her head. I try to brush their hair when I'm brushing my own, but then when they get dressed it's a mess again.

Hey we're all human and as long as the kids are happy who cares!

Thank you for cheering me up today. I am still chuckling.... as a mother, of course. :)

So I decide to take the kids to home depot to look at blubs to plant over the weekend. On our way out I look down at my boy and see this...

:rotfl:

That is really funny!! :rotfl: At least he wasn't barefoot.

nope. I hold that title thankyouverymuch! My son's teacher sent home a note the other day requesting that he wear underwear to school.:rolleyes1 I checked when I read it- and he was full on commando!

Hehehehe. That is hilarious!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

You guys just made my day!! :)

I love it! These are so funny! My boys are 5 years apart. My funny story was that I laid out an outfit for my older son (10). I "thought" it was shorts and a tee-shirt. He put the shorts on and said they didn't fit right. I looked at the size to see if they were last year's. Turns out they were my 5 year old's pants that he was wearing as shorts!!!!! :rotfl:

I'm a bad mom, too!!!

I've done that too! My two boys are also 5 yrs apart. This summer, they both had "Cars" pajamas. I thought I put the correct pair on DS7's bed. He came downstairs wearing the pjs and they looked a bit wrong - the shorts were too short. I checked the tag and sure enough, he was wearing the baby's size 2T pjs! :scared1: DS7 is a very skinny kid, but he's definitely not a 2T! :rotfl:

Ok, I think I now have three separate posts on this thread. I guess I'm a really bad mom!

OK, had to share. We struggle with having proper shoes around here also. Two stories: one is we had to go somewhere dressed up this past Sunday & I just grabbed the baby's shoes & headed out the door. We get there & I realize I have two different black dress shoes in different sizes! But they are different feet at least. She wimpered a bit when I put the smaller one on but I made her wear them anyway & figured I'd just carry her around most of the day (she's 20 months) hope no one noticed & hope the one didn't cut of circulation. I'm sitting there pondering my situation when a woman walks up & says, "Those are the most adorable shoes ever!" I said not one peep. How could she say that when they were different shoes in different sizes? At least there was a woman in the room less observant than me!

Number two: This summer I had my sister's kids (all boys) and I had to make a run to Wal-Mart. With my 3 & her 3 it was a bit chaotic so before we left the house I just shouted, "Does everyone have on shoes?" Of course they all said yes & I didn't check.

We get there & the 7 year old says he doesn't have shoes & awaits my wrath. Who has time for wrath when you're about the take 6 kids under 7 into Wal-Mart? I just dug around in the back of the van looking for an extra pair of flip-flops. No luck. The only thing we had was peach heels with a big leather flower on them. I help them up triumphantly & everyone laughed but he dutifully put them on & clip-clopped around Wal-Mart. We were all totally cracking up. The best part for me, though, is he is the kid that I lose all the time. With high heels on he couldn't run & had to concentrate on walking so he stuck by my side like maple syrup on a pancake. I never lost him once! After that I told him he was wearing heels everytime we left the house. He hasn't forgotten his shoes since!
