Do I "risk" lime green again?

Couple of weeks ago, DH and I spent the afternoon strolling 'round Downtown Disney. This particular time, I decided to put the lime green Mickey ears from Home Depot on both sides of my purse, hoping to attract other Disers. Not long after arriving, I noticed 2 women wearing lime green fanny packs. I decided to approach them and ask if they were Disers. OMG!!!! They didn't speak English and when I pointed to their fanny packs and tried to explain....even pointing to the Mickey ears on my purse, they grabbed their packs protectively as though I was trying to rob them!!!!! To make matters even worse, DH was getting choked laughing and and turning round and round and shaking his head!!! The 2 women grabbed hold of each other and hurried away, looking back at me as though I was garbage someone had let in!!! Well, we're returning to DD again this Friday. DH wanted to know if I'd be wearing the green mouse ears again!!!!

Oh, well, think of the "colorful" story they will have to tell their friends back home......

To be quite honest I had a similar experience. I was walking through Epcot and these two very strange people came up to me and asked me if I was so and so. I was agahst. How the heck did they know me as that????!!!! They were correct oh by the way. Our friends we were traveling with were thoroughly freaked out as these people were a little on the strange side - missing teeth and whatnot. Turn out that the week before we had been having the, who's going when thread going on another message board than the DIS, and a person was lurking reading it. I had identified to another poster that I would be in Epcot on a particular day with a one year old in tow. I said nothing else. They somehow identified me through what little I revealed. They ended up being very nice and we left it at a Hi - isn't it a small world, type discussion. My friends won't let me live this one down to this day - I am the freaky message board person who brings home strays from WDW trips.

Hey, by the way, we're revving up the Margarita machine on the ship - come on and party for Cinco de Mayo!

Big V, that's ALL I could think about!!!! DH kept repeating in a high, mocking voice, "But officer, I'M A DISER"!!!! He lives for times when I screw up!

When we were standing in line to board the Magic last year there was a woman in line with lime green curling ribbon on her purse. I stopped her and asked if she was a DIS'er. She said "A what?" I explained, she grabbed the ribbon and took it off her purse and gave me the dirtiest look.

Now why would someone who wasn't a DIS'er put green curling ribbon on thier purse (not luggage - purse)

Ha Ha!! What a great thread. These are the things I was afraid of! Walking up to someone and getting the "what planet are you from" look. But, what the heck! I'll ask anyway.

If you aren't a DISer you shouldn't have lime green anywhere near you. Isn't that a rule?

I got lucky, last year at the christmas party the woman was wearing a DIS t-shirt so I knew I could approach her and not have her think I was a person. Only problem is my memory, I don't remember her name.

Even scarier,, last july 3rd we were in mk,, over at the docks in line to greet and get aladins autograph,, ( actually were in line for genie when aladin and jasmin joined him on the dock,, we had been waiting a long time,, got to be dd turn,, she ran ahead of me,, wifey was staying out holding cam... was getting jassmins autograph.. jasmin asked her name and when she told her aladin was like wait a min i know a lil girl named that and the last name too( which she hadnt given to jasmin btw) told her she was from crossett ar( that us) and evenm recognized me and called me by name,, now to our knowledge this guy was not a local who wa sworking at wdw, nor could he have ben any of our online friends,, we woulda known,,, but he knew us all even saw dw and waved to her and called her by name,, was just tooooo weird,, we stayed out of asdventureland after that,, honestly scared us a bit,,lol.. was just strange.
