Do I really need to be up at midnight for FP+?

We are in the parks 4/28-5/1 with our park order being the following MK, Epcot, MK, DHS. We are a family of four staying offsite so our FP+ window doesn't open until next week at 30 days prior and because we are offsite, I can only book one day at a time. It seems to me that I should definitely stay up to log on at midnight for our first MK day to try and get 7DMT as that is the only difficult-to-get FP we are interested in (I have boys who don't want to see Anna & Elsa). Do I really need to log on at midnight all the other nights too or can I just do it first thing in the morning? Other priorities are TSMM at DHS (and we have to do that before 2:00 to catch our flight), Test Track, BTMRR (but we have two days to fit that in). The rest will just be fill ins like POTC, Buzz and Space Mountain and TOT for just one or two members of our party.

Thoughts on if I should just suck it up and be up at midnight four days straight?

Try to get on at midnight to get 7DMT. Other ones I'd get on at midnight for would be Wishes (no FP for your trip though), Main Street Electrical Parade, and festival of fantasy parade. Everything else, you can easily get in the morning when you wake up or a few days later.

The Availability link in my signature addresses your questions.

We stayed offsite last May so I too was considering "do I have to stay up until midnight each night?" I chose not to as I typically get up around 5 am. At 5am on those mornings I I was able to book 7DMT (not until 9:30pm), Buzz, BTMRR, TSMM and ToT.

Even after you book your FP+ keep checking back and try to modify your times if you don't get what you want right away. Times do open up sporatically!

I think for your MK 7DMT, yes. I'll give a strong maybe to your DHS day, just because you're in a time crunch for your TSMM. But for the others, nah, sleep well my friend. If you're flexible in your trip, you'll find whatever else you're looking for.

This is what I was thinking made the most sense. Thanks for the feedback everyone. I will focus on 7DMT and TSMM.

Remember that even if you don't get exactly what you want at midnight, you should keep checking, even right up until the day of your park visit (and during that day) because people are moving things around all the time and you might catch the FP+ that you were looking for.

I think at 30 days out, I would definitely be doing my FP's at midnight.

At 60 days out, I typically do it as soon as I wake up and get everything I want.

I waited til 6am with 60 days out and I still got shut out of morning FPs with the princesses. It's not even 30 days yet and most FP for the morning look to be gone. So if you are planning on going in the morning, I'd try for midnight if possible.

I agree with most of the PPs. For 7DMT & possibly TSMM yes you do. However, that said, you can keep checking back if you don't get them. A lot of stuff opens up especially the day of when people decide to go to another park, etc. We've had great luck getting stuff the morning of the day we are going to the park. Good luck!

Today was my first day for FP+ selection, and at 12:04 AM the Anna and Elsa meet and greet ran out of fast passes. I don't get it...

Ok, here's my experience. We are staying offsite and going in 3 weeks. I got up at midnight every night for 6 days (awful!!!) this past week and was able to get all the fastpasses I wanted EXCEPT 7DMT. It was gone already for both our MK days. I was able to get TSMM though and all the others I wanted.

I've figured out the best strategy. Plan a trip to DLR at your 60/30 day mark. That way you're already up at the 9PM Pacific time, and full of energy and enthusiasm to get your FPs. Plus you can get things like Soarin' and TSMM out of the way, freeing up FPs for other things.

Too bad my boss won't give me any more time off.

I didn't have my tickets in time and did my FP at 59 days and got everything I wanted. 7dmt too. I can't believe I stayed up to do this in the past and went to work the next day like a zombie.

Plan to be at your computer at midnight. Early bird gets the worm lol

:thumbsup2 I always do. I print out Mesa's FP+ info page and plot my choices ahead of time. Then I hit it right at midnight. This Sunday is my 60 day mark :woohoo:
