If I am using a wheelchair due to the fact that I have issues w/ walking/standing for long periods of time, will I need to request a DAS? Or will that be handled as it was before the change, that will taken in an alternate entrance, etc.?

This will be my first time to need to use a wheelchair at Disney (2 park days, and I've had to sit out a lot of that). I am familiar w/ my Mom needing to use it in the past, though.

If your only issue is using a wheelchair then you won't need a DAS. There are less than a handful of rides where the lines aren't wheelchair accessible and for those you will be given a return time based on the standby line for the ride.

Wheelchairs are treated the same as they were before and don't need a DAS. Have a great time on your trip! :)

Except for a very few attractions, you will go through the regular stand-by line. For those attractions that can't accomodate a wheelchair due to stairs etc, they will give you a card with a time to return that is slightly shorter than the stand by time. You will then go through the FP return line. Theatre shows will direct you where to enter.

Thank you all for your replies! Renting a wheelchair has been the best thing we have done the last few years at Disney. I am now able to enjoy the parks so much w/ my family the way I used to be able to :)
