Our flight doesn't land until 7:00 pm so I know we won't be at the resort until about 8:30 ish. Do I need to notify the resort of our late arrival? If so, where can I find the number to call? We are staying at BCV
Also what time is check out? Is it 11:00 am?

Thanks

It won't be an issue if you arrive around 8:30 pm. If it was going to be midnight or later, you should contact them.

Yes, check-out is 11 am and late check-out is not available.

Resort address and phone numbers may be found in the DVC Resource Center link at the top of each DVC Forum.

Note, calls to the Front Desk are actually answered by a call center in Tampa. Their job is to act like the Front Desk and usually they will not transfer you to the resort.

Calls to the resort will still result in a late arrival being noted on the reservation. I certainly would fail to call the resort just because someone on the internet suggested that the call goes to Tampa. Things like a late arrival and many other issues can still be properly handled by anyone in the system - even from Tampa.

For an evening arrival, I would not call but I would if arriving after midnight.

I agree there is no reason to call before midnight, people arrive at all hours at Disney.

The purpose of my post is to let everyone know that they may not be talking to the Front Desk.

We had a family member get ill a couple of years ago with what was diagnosed as a bacterial food illness while staying at WL on an extended vacation. Our daughter was discharged from Florida Hospital at 3 AM after a 2 day stay but she was very weak. I called WL thinking that I was talking to the Front Desk, requesting a wheel chair which they said would be waiting for us upon our arrival by taxi.

When we arrived at WL, no one knew what we were talking about and a wheel chair was no where to be found. That's when a Manager explained that they never got the call from the call center in Tampa and that this kind of thing happens more than it should. We ended up pushing her to our room in a office chair which worked fine.

Yup we learned the hard way too - lost our car keys outside our villa and called the front desk 3 times asking if they had been turned in and gave them all our information. After hours of looking and calling AAA on the bizarre chance they were actually locked in the car a family was returning from a park (11PM) and came over to us with the AAA guy still there and had our keys explaining THEY had CALLED the front desk to report finding them and had left them hanging on their door if anyone was looking for them. They did not have a car to drive them up to the front desk and our villa at OKW was quite a hike away. Seemed ridiculous to me that a message like that could not have been forwarded on to the people who were working there especially IF the keys HAD been turned in we would still have been told no sorry no keys!

So, are you suggesting that no one should ever bother to call to a Disney Resort because you believe the call goes to Tampa?

In your example, it sounds to me as though the person who told you a wheel chair would be waiting was making a reasonable statement since wheelchairs are commonly found at Disney Resorts. It actually sounds to me like the resort "manager" you spoke with offered you an excuse blaming a nebulous entity in cyberspace (or Tampa) for his own failure at the resort. Glad they could still accommodate your needs.

On the few occasions I have needed to call a resort, our needs were met when we arrived and had also been noted on our reservation. Sorry others have not always had the same experience. I would still suggest calling the resort number provided by Disney to contact their resorts - whomever answers the phone does have access to the resort and reservation systems where ever they may physically be located. It doesn't really matter if they are in Tampa as long as someone at the resort follows up with the information provided via Disney's internal system.
