Do I need to cancel or change my ADRs? Help!

I made reservations for several restaurants in June for 7, but now our party is only 6. Can we show up with one less person? Do we need to cancel? Is there a way of changing from 6 to 7? Thanks

Don't panic, there's no need to change your reservations. You can show up with one less person and won't be charged. It's only when nobody shows up that they'll institute the no show rule.

You can also call and have them MODIFY your reservation. I do this because I figure it may give someone else that one extra seat they need for their party (especially since you're probably downsizing from an 8 top to a 6 top).

Sure you could, but I'll guarantee if the OP has ressies for hard to get places or coveted pre RD 8am slots that those 6 tops are already booked as well. Modify if you want, OP, but don't beat yourself up and feel like you're taking something away from someone else if it can't be done.
