I'm packing today. I know to pack for the heat. Do I need bug spray too? Is there a big mosquito problem in wdw?:scared1:
Thanks in advance to you amazing people...:jumping1:

We found no problem with mosquitos at all. And we were at the campground (cabin). Rumor has it they spray daily.

Please be aware that this is the worst mosquito year we've had in a long time due to all the standing water left around by tropical storm Fay. The city has started doing night time sprayings in some areas, but the mosquitoes are thick. Disney does their best to keep mosquitoes at bay, but this year will be a big challenge for them. If you are going to be in a wooded area or near water, you might want to use bug spray.

We had one trip where we had a problem with mosquitos. We were stung quite a few times on the train going from Toontown to Main Street in the MK.
We bought spray at The Emporium for some ridiculous amount of money. So, we have brought it ever since just in case. Haven't had to use it but, it does not take up much room to pack.
I do the same thing with children's cold medicine, Tylenol, etc.

:thanks: We will take some bug repellent wipes just in case.
It really is kind of you all to help make our trip easier.:wave2:

We were there one year over Halloween. It happened to be after one of the hurricanes that swept through Orlando. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge Villas. If we swam in the evenings, we had to stay in the water to avoid the mosquitos. The night we did the Magic Kingdom Halloween parade, we would have been carried away by the mosquitos if we had not sprayed. I honestly had never noticed mosquitos in the park until that visit. We did not come prepared and paid a premium price for our spray in the Wilderness Lodge store. I would pack some of those wipes just in case.

Yes bring it! We are in WDW right now and I am covered in bites. I don't remember ever having them like this on previous trips. Thankfully it doesn't seem to bother my DS (2) too much as I can see he has quite a few. I had to buy an anti-itch stick at the hotel I was so miserable.
