Please please please take the time to have a will made up very soon. The cost is usually minimal and the peace of mind is invaluable. I worked in estate planning for several years and saw the added difficulties and pain that families and other loved ones suffered through when a family member or friend died without leaving a will. Even the closest of families can be torn apart when a relative dies without designating how they want their assets distributed and, most importantly, who will be responsible for any minor children. Also, consider having a health care power, living will and power of attorney drawn up at the same time. Although these may seem like difficult documents to deal with, my advice is to have the documents prepared and then forget about them - know that you have done your duty to your family and friends. As mentioned, it is particularly important to have a will if you have young children. There is information available on line regarding wills, etc. Do your research yourself if you're more comfortable but please protect your family.
