We booked our first 7 day cruise almost 2 weeks ago and didn't buy our insurance through Disney as we planned to get it cheaper through insuremytrip.com. I just read somewhere that if I want pre-existing conditions to be waived, I need to purchase the trip insurance prior to 14 days after putting money down on a vacation. Is that right? So if I put my deposit down on the 8th, I have until this Friday the 22nd to get insurance? When getting insurance, for the total do you include everything like airfare, cost of the cruise, hotel stays, transportation?

Yes, you do only have 14 days to get the insurance if you want to have it include preexisting conditions. You do add everything that it will cost you to travel to come up with your total coverage.

Thanks so much! That's what I thought!

Do you purchase insurance for your children? I have a DD (5) and DD (2) and i was including them in my quote but then I wondered if they need insurance?

You include the total cost of the trip. We use Accessamerica's AAA family plan where the kids are free. It costs us 89 for 3500 worth of trip coverage. We drive down.

Some companies include children for free. Use the website you mentioned and check the policies for each one. yes, include all amounts you would pay for and want reimbursed. Good luck.

I am also an AAA member. Do you have to book your cruise thru them to use their travel insurance?
