Do I HAVE to bring the little booklet with me?

I am running out of room while packing. I took the luggage tags out. I just don't see any reason to carry it with me? Most of it is legalese. I can tear a couple of pages out of it, I suppose. Checked in online and have my cruise "boarding pass". Am I missing any reason to bring it???? Thanks!

I bring ours but have never needed it at the port. I just use it to keep my luggage tags together until it is time to put them on our bags. Didn't need the the signature forms either, last time we cruised.

Nope, no need! I got my booklet one year and misplaced it when my niece and nephew were up! I searched everywhere. I was so worried. I didn't even have the tags. Guess what? They had everything I needed at the port. I found the booklet 2 days after getting home!?! :worship:

The only thing I've had to use the actual little booklet for was to show when checking in for the DCL transfers at Orlando, and to enter the terminal in San Diego as well as San Pedro (when DCL ported there).

Nope. We took it all the way to Copenhagen (and all we had were carry ons so space was at a premium) and all we needed was the ONE piece of paper we printed out after we completed our online checkin. :headache:

For whatever reason, I am so attached to those little booklets they send us. (I mean, I can't WAIT to get the little bugger in the mail and then read it like I've never cruised before! :rotfl2: Am I the only one that still DOES that?? ;) ) I've never needed it for check-in. My printer is on the fritz right now so I can't print out the signature page for our cruise this Saturday, but called DCL and they said I could just take the page out of the booklet and sign it. But from all I read here, I wouldn't even need that. :cutie:

NOPE. I’m totally guilty of this as well. I’ve read mine cover to cover(actually have it in my lap right now) but I will skip a lot of the contract area because who can decipher the wording? :lmao:

I did the online check in last week and was surprised it didn’t print any signature forms so I guess we don’t need them anymore. Last time I cruised they said we didn’t need to present them with anything out of the book. We still did the online check in process and gave them our signed contract, but now it looks like they’ve eliminated the signature altogether.

I’ve mentioned it a few times before but enjoy the book while you still can because I don’t see DCL sending them out much longer as they cost Disney a lot of money to put together and ship out. They serve no real purpose now that you can get all your information online. They’ll be a thing of the past like the Disney planning DVDs and customized maps...unfortunately.:sad2:

Oh good! Happy to hear I'm not an endangered species!

I'm going to do like Scarlett O'Hara, and I'm "going to think about that tomorrow"! ::yes::

Last December when we checked into at Port Canaveral, they checked the book as we drove in to drop off our luggage. That was the first time we've had them do that. They seemed to be pretty particular about it too. Glad I had it with me.

I too love to get Mickey Mail. I bring the booklet but after our first cruise have never needed it at check-in.
I always print out the signature page too, but when I try to give it to them at check-in they say they don't need it!
Bon Voyage!

:thanks: Thanks for sharing that! I still usually take that little booklet in the front pocket of my carry-on. I don't know why after 10 DCL cruises.... :goodvibes I just like having it. And I've had the very same experience at check-in with handing them the signature page! :cutie:

Nope. Being non-US travellers, one year we didn't even receive the booklet before we left for our holiday.
