OK, so what are my chances of being able to book a room, preferably a studio, for Sat, Sun, Mon at the end of October?

We are still waiting to close on our resale, and I know that October is a busy time for DVC.
I looked at the regular website, and I know the inventory is kept seperate, but there were rooms available for the dates we want. Does anyone know, if those rooms are not sold through CRO do they open them up to DVC or will they just sit empty?

Thanks guys...and good wishes for a quick closing are much appreciated!!!:hippie:

Others have recently reported that all properties are booked solid for that time period. It is Food & Wine Festival time, plus there are Halloween festivities and both draw the crowds. Cancellations do happen so you can keep your fingers crossed.

The Studios in particualr are very difficult to get during F & W. A lot of DVC members stay in a 1BR during the week & move to a studio on the weekends to save points. I just stay put in my studio for the entire time. It's too much of a hassle to me to pack & move 2 times each week.

I don't think you have any chance for a villa at that time. There are numerous waitlists for that time.

Those available rooms that you saw on the CRO website may have been trades to Disney accomodations (like the DCL or DLR hotels) that required points to make the reservation, but Disney must be paid for the lodging. Those are given to CRO to sell to recover the cost of the points reservations outside of DVC (but still Disney) made by the member. And since they represent points already used, they cannot be used for points a second time.

So, if you decide to do the DCL on points, the villas that those points represent are sold to pay DCL for your trip.
