Sorry if this question has been posted before. Couldn't find much on this topic.

We are renting at BWV in April and I'm wondering if we are entitled to the restaurant, shopping, and other discounts provided to DVC members. I understand you usually have to show your "DVC Card". Is this just the room key, which identifies your room as a DVC property, or do you have to have a separate, DVC membership card?

No biggie, just figured it would be silly to NOT take advantage of the discounts if we could.

Thanks! :flower:

We rented in December and got some discounts like on Mini golf and Disney Quest, didn't try at any restaurants but our room key did say DVC member on it so it never hurts to try....

The discounts are supposed to be available only upon presentation of the DVC Membership Card. Renters are not entitled to any member perks or discounts -- but if you get them, you get them. Consider it a freebie.

As mentioned, technically, renters are NOT entitled to the member perks but..your room key will say DVC member on it so you may be able to get some of them. That being said, you also may be asked for the blue DVC member card in addition to the room key card as proof you're eligible for the discounts. So again, if you are offered the discount without asking, I'd consider it a bonus but I wouldn't go out of my way to ask for them as they could ask for the extra card as proof you won't be able to produce it and they have been asking more and more for the blue member card in addition to the room key.

Thanks everybody. I will probably not go out of my way to ask. If it's offered, great, but I don't want to push for something I'm not really entitled to. I'm just happy to have the great room!! :)
