My last trip to WDW was a mere 2 months ago and I have already been trying to figure out how to get back before the summer stampede. I have a trip planned with a friend and her DD for 10/20-10/27 but thats too far away

But before I rush off with all the details lets start with the cast:

Me: I am 38 year old nanny living in PA. I work for a single dad who has sole custody of his 5yr son Adam (he sees his mom everyother weekend) I grew up in So Cal not to far from DL. My first trip was when I was 6 months old. The only ride I went on.... NO not Dumbo but Pirates!!! And my mom wondered why I was such a huge Adam Ant fan in HS.... I now live in PA and have been going to WDW since 2002

And the rest of the cast.... anyone??? Hello???? well must just be me!!!

Yes this is a solo trip -- most of mine are.

So back to how this trip came about. I have been plotting in my head ways I could approach my boss for a long weekend but the thing is he has been traveling so much that there really isn't a good time How do I get back... I really need another Disney fix!!!???!!! When what to my wondering ears to I hear... "Adam's mom is taking Friday 3/9-Monday 3/12th"

What ???wait ...I have a 4 day weekend So the next thing out of my mouth is... " I have really been wanting to get down to WDW again do you mind if I take off Thursday after Adam gets on the bus - you could work until 3 and then meet his bus??? Pretty please with sugar on top. He should sure no problem, then came the best part He said Do you want me to check to see if I can get your flight down with my miles???? AHHH YES PLEASE. Well good ole Continental won't let me fly down on Thursday for the lower miles but I could if I leave Wednesday. SSSOOOOOOOO

I am now the proud owner a a free airline ticket for 3/7 with a return on 3/12

I was able to turn my 4 day trip into 6 days..

I own a non-Disney timeshare it was a mistake but I really try to make the best of it and it is not that far to Disney, so I called them yesterday and I can stay 7-10 but no rooms over the weekend. I call WDW no rooms expect a nice $400 a night at AKL or $500 at Old Key West. Ouch. I could afford it sort of kind of but can't bring myself to do it so I pass. I found a nice little budget hotel near my timeshare so that will have to do. I would have done the AKL one night if I could have the sunrise safari but you have to be on Concerige level (sorry if my spelling is wrong).

next came the ADRs.

Normally I just eat CS and quick snacks when on solo trips but after reading so many wonderful TRs and looking at the dining reveiws I decide to make 2 ADRs

Bomas 3/10 for dinner been there once about 4 years ago

Coral Reef 3/9 for lunch never been I know the dining reports have been 50/50 on how good the food is but I like the look of the place so what the heck.

I am thinking I might do pirate: & princess: party on 3/8 but not sure

17 days to go... I'll keep you posted on all my pre-trip planning.

I was on the offical Disney site today and they have posted that Indiana Jones is going to be closed on 3/10 for a cheerleading event. :cheer2: I guess they must be doing some great stunts this year.

Atleast I figured out way there are no rooms. Its funny because when I was there in Dec they were having the Pop Warner Football Superbowl.

I like to have a pretty good plan of what I am doing and in trying to figure out my first day I realized that my flight arrives at 6:30pm so by the time I check in to the hotel all the parks will be closed or close to closing so on my first night it looks like it is just getting settled and maybe DTD.

On one of the other planning touring websites they have that Friday-Monday should be VERY crowded like VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY crowded. Maybe this wasn't the weekend to go but it is the weekend I have planned so I am moving forward with it

Plus I have Thursday with a lower crowd expectation. So what should be my priority for Thursday??? Well, how about EVERYThing. I am a ride junkie and have done 3 parks in one day but could I do 4?? UMM something to think about.

I am thinking something like this...

Drive to TTC- Park car
Take bus to AK
Ride EE, Safari
Bus it to MGM
Ride TT, RNR
Walk to Boardwalk
grab a bite to eat
Boat or walk to Epcot
Ride Soaring, Test Track, Mission Space
Grab the monorail to MK around 5:00
Go to the pirate: & princess: party
should be able to ride a lot as it doesn't look as if it has been that crowded at the party.

Sounds kind of crazy but I think I can do it. That way when I go to the parks on crowded days I can be a little more laid back and get on what I can but not stress if it is really crowded.

What do you think? Anyone else ever try something like this??

Let me know if you get a chance to read it, we went for a day last year during spring break..it was the beginning of march when we went.

Tinkerbellluvr7: I read your report... I can't believe you did all 4 plus DTD Major Kudos>

I named my TR Disney Wishes come true, because I had been wishing I could go to WDW and poof I got 6 days off work plus free airfare.

The one low point was no rooms at WDW for the nights I couldn't stay at my timeshare (the 10-12) that didn't cost a lot of $$$$$. Well I almost gave in and was going to book AKL but when I checked the Disney site only OKW came up (stayed there before so I passed). I was resigned to stay at a budget hotel but something stopped me from booking it.

I have been reading WDW-Poly Princess's TR and she had lots of pics of WL and I was thinking that's a nice place to stay and guess what--Yesterday morning I was poking around on the Disney site :surfweb: and Wildreness Lodge come up as an option. I was very tempted but the cost was still over $400 a night and for just one person it is a little bit much.

BUT I still didn't book my outside the World budget no fun hotel. I kept thinking why can't ASmovies open up. I really love movies and thought this would be the value resort I would want to stay at. So you guessed it, this morning on the Disney site AS movies is available - the price for 2 nights almost 300. I have an AP so I thought maybe I could get a discount so I call up the nice CM at Disney Travel and yes it is available and yes there is a discount rate available I saved $100!!!!!:cool1: :cool1: Cool Beans!!!

I looked into returning my rental car early but I would save only $30 so I passed on the ME bus to take me back to the sirport.

So now I am starting to wish for the Dream team to give me the DVC membership. Why not??? Every other wish has come true!!!!

Side note: I told my boss I was thinking of booking AKL at $400 a night and he said if I did he was cutting my pay by 10%. (I think he was only half joking)

Here is what I am thinking....

Arrive 3/7 check-in at timeshare just settle in

3/8 Be at MGM for rope drop ride what I can until 1:00
Walk over to Boardwalk eat lunch
Bus it over to MK around 3:00 for pirate: & princess: party

3/9 Spend all day at Epcot lunch at Coarl Reef stay for Illuminations

3/10 Check out of Timeshare, go to AK, Check into All Star Movies, Bus over to MGM for Fantasia (I have ADR for Bomas at 5:00 not sure if I'll make it)

3/11 Go to MK for day, maybe go over to Poly for lunch stay and see wishes and spectro

3/12 spend day at AK head out to airport at 5:00, Plane leaves at 8:00

Should be a good trip, I am hitting all 4 parks, I should be able to see all the parades, fireworks and nighttime shows. I usally hop around more but since it is supposed to be crowded I figured this was the best way instead of taking the time to move between parks.

I am really looking forward to this trip. only six more days to go YEAH

I will be leaving my house in less than 2 hours to head out to the airport. It seems so weird to be leaving in the middle of the afternoon. I am usally on the first flight out. The last time I flew was home to CA and I had to leave my house at 2:00 AM!!! to make it to the airport by 4:00am.

OF COURSE IT IS SNOWING today. We have had almost no snow all year and the one day I am flying we get snow. Hopefully there won't be too much delay.

I am all packed up, new magazines, new book, rememebered my sunglasses (I forgot them the last time).

I rechecked the price on my rental car and was able to rebook it at a savings of $12 not a whole lot but will pay for my treats.

I will let you all know how the trip was on Tuesday!!!
