Do disney UK price match?

Not as far as I know, Complete Orlando are sometimes cheaper for hotel/ticket prices, I know 1 or 2 have posted they have tried to get Disney to pricematch them and they said no.

its £100 odd pound cheaper on complete orlando. Why is this?
With all these companies going bust i dont know what to do. Hope for a price match :) lol

With Disney.co.uk ours cost £5,025
Complete Orlando wanted £300 less at £4,725

I got £150 cashback from Disney.co.uk making the difference to £150 or £25pp

I wasn't so bothered about them going bust as I could claim the money back from credit card, I was more concerned about losing free dining, if they went bust after the offer ended then Disney would not offer it on a re-booking.

Complete Orlando seem a very good company but for £25pp I didn't think it was worth going with them, you also lose the freebie package if using anyone but Disney, not worth much but its there.

CO are cheaper because they have to be to sell the rooms, no-one would use them if they were same price as Disney, they sell at a discounted rate to attract customers, Disney don't need to, they have the name to sell at a premium.

Ah i see. I was thinking surely once you pay complete orlando they will give disney the money for the room and ticket etc so how could you lose your booking once it is made? sorry if thats a stupid question. I understand with airlines as they atcually own the planes, were as complete orlando do not own disney.

Problem is agents like CO don't pay Disney upfront, they only reserve rooms (usually as a block booking and no individual names) so when a company collapses Disney have no idea if you have a reservation or not, your contract is with the company that collapses not Disney.

I think it's definitely true that CO don't pay Disney until a few weeks before the arrival date (they confirmed to me that even if you pay up front, they don't pay Disney until much later, so the booking isn't guaranteed until then). However, they can issue Disney US reservation numbers a few days after booking, so Disney must be aware of individual bookings.

Hey sorry if this is a stupid question but why only US numbers?

You need a US res number to make your ADR's, they can't be done with your UK res number they issue you with when booking.

Silly question again could i get a US res number or would i get the uk one. This is rather confusing haha

If you book with UK agent then you will not usually get a US res# you need to ring or email Disney to get your US res#. Usually an easy thing to do but not always, this year I just emailed them and they sent me it after 2 or 3 days, last year I was on the phone 20 mins before they eventually found it, tried numerous different ways but the computer would not give the CM it, after 20 mins she said I will just try 1 last option and thankfully that worked.

So if i book with CO and get a US res IF they were to go bust i wouldnt lose my holiday?

You would still lose your holiday even if you obtained a US res#. The contract for your holiday is with CO not Disney. I don't know at what point Disney would honour the hoilday, I guess when they have recieved all your money in full but when do CO pay Disney?

I used a UK Hotel agent a couple of years ago the agent went bust the day we checked in, I went to see the hotel manager who assured us we had nothing to pay but told me anyone checking in the following day would have to pay again, their reservations were not paid for. So with that company the hotels must have been paid the day customers checked in.

If its something that concerns you then I would suggest paying the extra £100 with Disney. On a trip costing £1,000's then £100 is not a lot for peace of mind.
Any other year I would have gone with CO and saved a little money but going with relatives this year who are looking forward to free DDP at OKW, I didn't want any risk of losing that. If going on our own we would be 100% happy staying & eating offsite if there were any change in plans.

Yes for peace of mind im going to pay the extra. Not worth the hassle to try and sort stuff out again. Once is stressful enough for me :). Also with quidco, if i just pay the deposit for disney will i still get quico cashback?
Sorry about all the questions :lmao:
Phil

Yes Quidco is paid on deposit only bookings.
I paid our deposit on 30th Oct, Quidco tracked on 1 room but not on the other, they asked for clarification that it wasn't a duplicate reservation, once I gave them details they wanted both rooms tracked, they changed to validated on 21st Dec so just waiting for £150 payment anytime now. Balance is not due for months yet.

Don't worry about asking questions, if I can't help someone else can, plenty of us enjoy helping people plan their trips.

I was thinking the same. We opted for booking with Disney Direct for the reassurance and they are more flexible with any changes (which we've already made). I believe CO charge for any changes.

Happy Planning

After looking at quidco i am unsure of how it works. Maybe after i sign up it may be obvious. Do i have to go through a link on their website in order to get cashback or does it just automatically register?

Once you sign up - you search for the retailer you want click on them and then on that page it will have a button to 'Get Cashback'

Heres the Quidco Page
