Do Character Meals have Birthday Cards?

My youngest DD got one at some character meal at WDW a few years ago, and older DD got one another time at a different meal. I can't recall the meals now...

My DDs were talking about our Japan trip to a CM at Surf's Up two year ago, and he was from Japan, so he was really tickled to hear two little girls raving (without any involvement from us) about his home country. He went back and brought them back signed pictures of Mickey Mouse and an autographed birthday card for my younger because we were celebrating her birthday. It felt like a special pixie dust thing more than something we could have asked for.

We also saw a young lady with Down Syndrome receive a birthday card signed by all the characters for her birthday (also at Surf's Up). Not going to lie- DH and I both got choked up seeing how happy she was and the sweetness of the characters with her. We crossed paths with her several times on our visit and saw her experiencing a lot of pixie dust. It really warmed my heart.

Back to topic, I have brought birthday cards for my girls and had the characters sign them. It makes a great keepsake for birthdays.

We've been at DL for plenty of birthdays and never had this happen. So I'm going to say no, they don't provide them.

But you've given me a great idea on bringing our own if we ever do a character meal on a birthday again!

I have never heard of that happening at WDW. Can someone who has experienced that confirm it?
I can partially confirm... January 2017 WDW, we have signed birthday cards from almost all of our table service meals. Especially character meals! I think the only one we didn't get ANYTHING was Hollywood & Vine at DHS. Even the EPCOT table service meals did something special for us - the Tokyo Dining ladies made us a bunch of origami and wrote out our DD's name in proper kanji on her birthday button.

I think we just dropped "birthday" constantly on every CM and most of them made some kind of effort - a greeting or a sticker or a cupcake... but we certainly did not expect it! The whole lazy river singing to DD at Blizzard Beach was definitely a surprise!

I celebrated a birthday in WDW several years back and they definitely had cards for me. I guess there was somewhere on our reservation that we put we were celebrating my birthday because at a couple of our reserved table service meals there was already a card and confetti on our table before they had even seen my birthday button. Can't say for sure that they still do it but they definitely did in the past.

Guess I'll be able to compare after celebrating at DLR in Feb :bday:

We got a card at Ohana at WDW, but haven't gotten one in DL. Table service places do provide a desert and button though.

Thank you all! This has been very helpful.

And I can personally confirm the birthday cards at WDW. They have stacks of them at most the major character meals.
