Do celebrities have to wait in line, too?

Unless they're getting a comp, they'e paying $95 per hour for that VIP Escort. So, if they wat to pay it to skip the line, is ay go right ahead. If I could afford it, I might do it, too! :teeth:

I think it should really depend on how "big" the celebrity is. I wouldn't want them in line in front of me causing a big commotion and keeping my kids and myself from getting on a ride or into a show because people are going up to them. If they're not so big anymore, sure wait in line with us! :thumbsup2

yes, but ...
my cousins both are celbs one singer one actress they wait in line just like us, but they have never asked or sought special accomodations, i guess it would depend on the celeb and status but we will be back and in line this december .

Such a fun thread! It brought back memories of my childhood trip to Disney with my parents.....It must have been 1984 or 1986...sorry I can't recall exactly what year. But we had dinner reservations at the restaurant At the Top of the World (think it was contemporary) and we were seated across from Michael Jackson, his bodyguard and a little boy. Not sure who the little boy was but I went over to the table...(being 12ish) and said hello and asked for his autograph. He was really really nice and even offered to pose for a photo with me....the bodyguard didn't like that but my mom snapped a pic of Michael and the little boy on our polaroid! There wasn't a crowd around him at all...it was a really quiet experience. Memories!

Crazy4mandms, DD and I saw Aerosmith in January in Dallas. They were GREAT! So was Lenny and Ted Nugent even showed up unexpectedly and did a number.

lol i was at that concert too. I was on the floor in the middle section between the catwalks i got to touch Steven's hand during " i don't want to miss a thing"
It was a great concert wasn't expecting ted though lol.

celebrity wise at disney if they are there i might not see them lol am in disney zone. Am in my own little world at the time :rotfl:

What a fun thread!...

For all those who have met Steven Tyler...I think I have to start hangin' out with you guys!!! I would LOVE to meet him!

I have to agree that if I saw Tom Cruise he would need to run for those tunnels because I suffered postpartum depression & I also have OCD & take anti-anxiety meds for that...He's such an idoit...my meds have made me a happy, stable person & I am so grateful for them & my doctors!

We saw Hulk Hogan on our honeymoon the day he did his hands & feet in cement outside the Chinese Theater at MGM...my DH was far more impressed than me! Infact, there have been 2 other wrestlers that DH has recognized at WDW...both at the GF. I guess I have gotten stuck with the wrong celebrity sighting theme!

I was about to reply and say that I honestly didn't understand anyone's need to approach a celebrity. Being in NYC I have seen my share of celebs on the street, and I always do the, "Oh yeah, that's so and so" and move on bit.

But as I was waiting for the page to load I remembered my teenage years, running through the streets of NYC screaming and yelling for the guys in Menudo. Hiding out in hotels, pretending to be guests just to sneak into their rooms (yes, it did work too LOL) So Ok, I take back what I said in the previous post and reword it....

I honestly don't understand an adults need to approach a celebrity. LOL

OMG, Menudo! Little Ricky Martin!!! I remember how crazy it was in the city then! I did not go to see them, but I remember waiting for a glimpse of Michael Jackson and/or his brothers during their "Victory" tour. Michael was staying at the then Helmsley Palace and my girlfiriend and I tried to get upstairs several times to no avail. TOO FUNNY!

My problem is I wouldn't recognize a celebrity if they came up to me and said, "Hi, I'm a celebrity".

:lmao: :lmao: That would be me too! Even if I DID think I recognized someone (not likely - I could probably run into one of them and be clueless), I would think it was just someone who looked like them and wasn't really them.

I saw Evander Hollyfield walking around Epcot by himself. He even stopped and participated in the little show they have in England where they put the crown on his head. There was absolutely no one with him at all but then I guess he wouldn't need a bodyguard now would he? :rotfl:

Anyone can book one of these--but they are rather expensive.

We did a regular tour in Disneyland last December, and had a number of comments as we walked by regarding who we were, why we had an escort, why we were allowed to cut in line...

I can't imagine a well-known celebrity navigating crowds on his/her own during peak times at Disney! I barely manage for my nondescript, ordinary family! :sunny:
I know anyone can do it but if you do you better have a lot of money cause it costs a mint!

Only celebs get to go in the back entrances. If you pay the $95 you dont get the same treatment. The tour guide wil be your "runner" if you will and get FPs but you have to wait in line like everyone else.

Auughhh. I got my hopes all up and then...dashed on the rocks!
It's probably yet another sign of my Disney insanity but after all the money spent on tickets, hotels, etc the idea of being able to spend three or four hundred more to go to the front of every line was VERY attractive.

It was a nice dream...it really was.

With regards to security, didn't Reese Witherspoon and her kids get hassled at Disneyland by some photographer/paparazzi. I think CM's got pushed about a bit, it was all very unpleasant. I can see why Disney would perhaps suggest for some stars that they had an escort. Presumably it's up to the guest though.

Yes, as I recall she was taking her daughter to California Adventure for her birthday and ended up suing the guy. I remember it was right around one of our visits there.

During ABC Primetime Weekend (I think thats what its called) at Disneyland in
September, 2004 we saw one of the America's Funniest Home Videos hosts (he was really short ;) ) . We also saw George Lopez that weekend.

Are there different levels of "tour guide service"? I sat on a wall in WDW's Fantasyland for about 65 minutes this past Saturday while DW and DS4 waited in line to ride Dumbo and the carousel and people-watched. One of the things I noticed was that all the tour guides parked, retrieved, and usually pushed people's strollers for them. The other thing I noticed was that many of the tour guides took their parties to the regular lines but some (i.e., three to five) of them did take their parties into the handicapped entrances and/or into the exits and none of those people looked handicapped (which I know is not always visible) nor famous to me (but then that could just be me not recognizing them).

My friend told me specifically that paying for the service does not give you special access. They could have been someone famous or maybe a foreign dignitary who we wouldn't recognize. I know that for certain groups my freind gets a "company" car.I think that you may get to use it to travel between parks and maybe even exit through back routes. He brings it home with him cause he has to leave at insanely early hours sometimes.

I saw Joey fatone at the akershus last spring , waiting in line with his daughters for the princess' breakfast. On 05/05/05 I saw Wayne Brady (whose line is it anyway) walking around the park, with some Disney imagineers and VIPS.He had a live simulcast W/ disneyland later in the day to kick off the celebration. I'm sure that major celebs get some sort of security or protection, but try to make it as unobtrusive as possible. :cool2:

It truthfully does not bother me that they get to skip to the front of the lines - I think about how much they miss out on because of this - I love the theming in the lines and I love walking slowly around the parks and paying attention to all the little details - they don't have the luxury of doing this -

I imagine they don't get to go to Disney for 10 days like I do and go at their own pace and return over and over to their favorite things and get to go explore all the hotels like I do!

I also know for a firsthand that Disney celebrities don't have to wait in line - my DD rode the teacups with Belle - and they let them ride without waiting in line!!! But I have waited in line with Goofy for his own ride - I guess those princesses are just spoiled!!! :lmao:

I saw Micheal Jackson one year at Epcot (before he went strange) in his Capt Nemo (or whatever that was) he was going to see his own show he was followed with a big crowd...

Okay this just might be my opinion but do Micheal Jackson and WDW really mix? I'd rather not see him there. :rotfl2:

As for Tom -- yeah he better run for those tunnels.
