Just wonering if cats fart?i have a cat named oliver he is a big boy over 20 lbs i don't think he farts LOL oliverthecat

Now that you mention it, I have never noticed my kitty passing gas....he makes up for it when he poops! He reeks!!:scared1:

My last two cats lived to be 16 and 19. I never once noticed a fart. But DD11 swears the oldest one let a stinky one rip when she was almost 19. That is 90-something in cat years. If she did the deed, I say she's entitled to one fart in 90+ years.

Our new kitten hasn't farted, but she gets hiccups often and flat out burps! I have never had a feline burper before.

Yes.
The food my cat has to be on causes her to pass some serious gas. Deadly would be the best word to use.

I know my tabby Queenie does, she did it to herself one time when she was cleaning her bottom and got so offended she thumped her son for it.

Oh my Lord. My white kitty could lay down a cloud. She'd do it then shoot me a dirty look. I braver heard it but i definitely smelled it.

Yes! Our new kitty could stink you out of the room. We switched to gluten free food and that solved the problem. I recently I bought him some snacks but forgot to check the label for gluten and sure enough the smell came back.

When I saw this thread I thought it was monkeyboy at it again:lmao:

I don't have a cat but it seems logical to me that cats would fart. I'm the only animal that I know that doesn't ;)

Yep, and they get the hiccups and snore too, both of which are really funny to listen to.

Oh God, yes! We got Katie from the Humane League and whatever they were feeding her did not agree with her. Her farts were silent, but deadly. We immediately changed her diet and haven't had a problem since. Now if I could just do something about her death breath.:lmao: It's pretty bad.

Yep, they sure do. I have an 18 year old male cat who makes the odd smell or two every once in awhile :P

Yes! I have been awoken to some nasty cat farts in my life. Blach!

YES!!!! :rotfl2: We adopted out a momma kitty that I nicknamed StinkyButt! Her male kitten that I kept is not near as bad as his momma was, but he has his moments!!!:lmao:

mine does!

it's not nearly as bad as the dog. sushi (dog) is a serial silent but dead farter.:rotfl:

my vester butt (cat) also purrs...but it sounds like he's congested.

one of our cats that lived to be about 17 would get the sneezes. it wasn't uncommon for her to sneeze about 10 or so times in a row. i'm guessing she had hayfever. cat snot is not fun either. LOL

Thankfully it is a rare occasion for mine to do it, I remember it only happening a couple times. I used to have a cat that would knock you backwards, and fairly often.

Oh yes cats can fart. My female cat was sitting onmy sister's chest one time when she farted in my sister's face. My sister said it smelled really bad. I think it was because my cat had some milk early that day out of my sister's cereal that my cat stuck her head in after my sister was done.

Yes they sure do. Penny is a stinky girl!! Maybe it is the food she is eating. Something has gotta give!!! YUCK!!!:faint:

Yes they do. I'm figuring on silently for the most part. One day, I was sitting with my cat on the couch, and this wheezy squeak sound came out of his butt, I thought he was going to freak out. He jumped up, looked at his butt, looked at me, I said "Hey, I didn't do anything.", he looked at his butt again and then curled back up and went to sleep.
