Do cancellations get updated overnight?

If I call tonight a little before they close, then in the morning right when they open, will there be any difference in availability? I guess I am asking if their system updates cancellations immediately when something is cancelled, or is it updated overnight? I just don't want to call more than once for an ADR on the same day if their computers are not updated.

I am going to answer my own question. The CM I just talked to said cancellations are updated in their system immediately.

I guess I was trying to save myself from calling them constantly. :thumbsup2

Actually when I called the CM told me that it takes 4 hours for cancellationos to be released in the system. So she recommended that I call first thing in the morning for late-day cancellations and later at night for afternoon cancellations. I've been calling at 8am and 8pm and was able to snag 2 ressies I was waiting for. This seems to conflict with what you were told but I wanted to share!!

I had heard in another thread on this forum that they were updated overnight, so that 7:00am (when the phone lines open) is your best opportunity for snagging last-minute reservations. Although I suppose that the CM you talked to would probably know better than anyone on the forum. Then again, if Mouseturtle asked the same question and got a different answer, who knows which is right??

I basically heard the same thing, though not to the details you did. My CM said that the biggest batch of cancellations open up overnight as the system restocks all the late cancellations from the prior evening. She said that calling once in the morning and once in the late afternoon/early evening is about all you have to do. I would bet the 4 hour time frame is pretty accurate.

Sometimes I think it comes down to how hard the ADR CM wants to help. I usually have had excellent help with me even taking the recommendations of the CM about certain restaurants.

I am right there with you, I called 7 am on day 90 and wasn't abel to get res I wanted ,s o Ihave been calling daily, hopefully one of us get disney magic sprinkled on us! :cool1:

I don't know for sure which is right, but I suspect it is that they show up immediately to 4 hours. I say this because when I have called trying to get something I previously couldn't, I have never had any luck calling 1st thing in the morning. I have had really good luck calling in the mid-afternoon. Not only are the hold times really short (if at all), but I even called once in that time frame and was given a choice of not 1, but 2 days and times for CRT. I also had luck once when I called in the morning and they had nothing, but called back in the afternoon and they had a time available.
