I'm in South Florida without power and don't know when it will come back. Using a small generator to get on laptop. I know this had probably been asked before but I've never needed to pay attention. Do any resorts take dogs in case we decide to leave? I know there is a kennel so I think no. Thank you for any help.

Hotels at Universal Studios allow dogs in the room. They even have dog treats and a water bowl in the mini bar and dog food on the in room dining menu.

The hotels are Portofino Bay Hotel
Hard Rock Hotel
Royal Pacific Hotel

Those are the only ones I know of. I'm sure there are more.

I am pretty sure that the Disney Owned hotels don't. I am not sure about the Swan or the Dolphin. Perhaps one or more of the Downtown Disney hotels. Off property your best bet would be one of the Marriott chains. During last years huricane season we evac'ed to Atlanta and stayed in a Residence Inn and I recall several of their other chains allowed pets.

Several of the offsite chains allow pets. The Universal (Lowe's) hotels allow them too. None of the Disney resorts do, but you may be able to board your dog overnight at some of their kennels. I would just call and ask wherever you were interested in staying.

I hope everything is OK with you and your pets. Try this website. www.petswelcome.com---It's great resource for finding pet friendly lodging.

Hope you get your power back soon - we were at POP during Hurricane Jeanne last Sept & many guests had dogs there with them - maybe they make exceptions during Hurricanes? :)

Homestead Hotels allow pets - Their pet policy is as follows:
One pet is accepted per guest room. The general manager has the authority to allow additional pets per room, based on his or her own discretion.
Guests with a pet will be charged upon check-in a fee of $25 per day, up to a maximum of $75.

The guest room carpet is cleaned, all bedding is washed, and a professional exterminator treats the room after a guest with a pet checks out. Occupied guest rooms with pets are similarly cleaned monthly in the event of a long-term stay.

Please note that there is no longer a weight restriction for pets.

Their are 3 in the Orlando area.
