Do any of you own a Maclaren Quest Mod?

I bought my MacClaren Triumph on ebay in March 2008 specifically for our Disney trip this November. It was a 2005 model, but was brand new in the box. We've taken it to a few local amusement parks as practice for WDW. I LOVE IT! I wish I had know about MacClaren strollers when my guy was a baby!

I chose the Triumph because of the reclining seat. I knew my son would need a stroller for WDW, but no longer had one - he is almost 5. I also wanted one that I could fold up & carry easily. It can be gate checked & has a carry strap to toss it over your shoulder. There aren't as many features as the Quest or other higher end models, but it does exactly what I need.

Also, got a Skip Hop diaper bag that clips right on to the stroller handles - love it! I don't need it as a diaper bag, but it is great for hauling everything else.

Have a great time at Disney!

I've been looking online and was wondering if anyone knows if there is a difference between the Quest Sport and the regular Quest. Also whats the difference with the Techno? We went to Babies-r-us yesterday and tried out the Triumph and the Quest but don't remember seeing the Techno.

There aren't any differences between the Quest and the Quest Sport....just different fabric choices. There is a Quest Mod as well.

The Techno is going to come with more bells and whistles. There is an almost full recline, leg support is better, and I believe adjustable handles are some of the upgrades.

If all the Maclarens were ranked on a scale, here you would have them as far as the features it offers are concerned (from most to least):

1) Techno
2) Quest
3) Triumph
4) Volo

HTH's!!

The biggest difference that I noticed was that the Techno has the extendable handles. It also is supposed to have some kind of better suspension in the wheels? I didn't notice a difference when pushing my 50 lb child in it so I'm not sure if that even matters all that much.

Also, I think the techno had the square hood instead of the round which gives a little better shade.

And the previous poster is correct about the Quest Sport and Mod. Just different patterns on the fabric.

Thanks I'm gonna have to see if I can find a Techno in the store somewhere and have DH test drive it. I like having the extra sunshade but I can always add the extender if I need to. Just thinking the extendable handles might work for him too. Hmmm more to think about.

Unless your DH is really tall, he probably won't need the extendable handles. Maclaren handles are pretty tall to begin with and my DH is 6'2" and doesn't have any issues pushing ours. I personally wouldn't pay extra just for the extendable handles. When I compared, I didn't feel that the extra money to upgrade to the techno would be worth it for me. The Volo, Triumph, and Quest had definite differences that I could see spending the extra to upgrade between each model, but that next jump to the Techno just didn't do much for me.

Of course, this is only my humble opinion!

ETA: Our Babies r us had the techno to try out too. Maybe yours was just out of stock or something?

Hmm I may not have noticed it there. We went on a Sunday and the place was a zoo. He didn't have trouble pushing the quest or the triumph so I probably don't need the techno unless I just found a great deal. He did have trouble with some of the other companies strollers by stepping on the wheels or the bars for the baskets and stuff.

It is also very easy to break down one handed through airport security, and fits nicely in those red "gate check" bags to protect it from the greasy grime of the underbelly of an airplane.

Good to know!

After reading this thread I have decided to buy a Maclaren Techno XT for the parks. We have the Quest already for at home. We figure we will use the Techno alot in the parks and is worth the extra $$$. My parents live near Orlando, so we will just store it there....along with the exta packnplay, car seat and other baby stuff!.
