On the one hand, I actually don't mind the sugar-free jello offered on the kids menu. But, not for my children...for me. I'm on a diet that allows sf jello as one of the few treats allowable (i.e. diet legal for diabetic & southbeach dieter), so I'll let DD have whatever dessert would come with my meal and then I'll eat her jello (can't even have the apple sauce, so YIPPEE SF JELLO). It's an odd concept, but it will work for us.
On the other hand, I do however, understand how that will not work for most and other than kids that are diabetic, don't see most parents choosing the jello for kids. I am grateful, however, that the kids that are diabetic do have the option of the SF jello since many have to be extra careful even with fresh fruits and especially high glycemic-index apple sauce. It may be pretty bad for most, but for some, it's a relief that it's there and I do hope that they keep it as an option, although it wouldn't hurt to add a few more choices.
On another hand...Hmmm (how many hands is that?....I wonder if the dietetic staff that chose the options of SF Jello and applesauce only offer those choices to their kids when they go out to eat? I know that anyone "can" purchase extra desserts and especially when the dining plan is free, it would not cost much, but those 2 items being
the listed options is pretty sad.
Well, let's throw another hand in there

rotfl: ) and I'll simply add that we (only speaking for my family) were lucky enough to get the
free dining plan this year, so I can't complain too much. We're making it work, so I'll just be happy with that.
Hopefully, anyone who can't reconcile it will be able to substitute something else for it and still get a great deal!
