Sure. You are welcome to offer your owned timeshare or condo in exchange for a reservation at a DVC resort. RCI and II Exchanges may not be listed on the Rent/Trade Board (even if they are at a DVC resort) and non-DVC reservations may not be posted asking for cash .
Just post the timeshare week you own on the Rent/Trade Board and what you would ask in trade at a DVC resort.
Doc, I was wondering about this. In the past, I sometimes saw ads on the DVC rent/trade board that seemed to be II trades into DVC. I noticed that these stopped a while ago. Are they gone because the DISboards set up a new policy against them, or because II cracked down on them? (Or maybe both?)

I'm obviously not Doc and I am just guessing so keep that in mind.
My understanding is that it is against RCI/II rules to resell/trade an exchange you got through them. If that is true, it's probably the reason they are not allowed on the Rent/Trade Forum.
I have not done a private trade..per sae..BUT..
I have traded my RCI (1 bdrm in Cancun or my Cape Cod) weeks, thru the RCI system, for wonderful accomodations, 2 and 3 bedroom units, are available in the Orlando area.
Most recently Cypress Point Resorts..2 blocks from the Crossroads shopping center and Disney's hotel row. Also for the Vistana Resorts in the area.
Check on the RCI site..
Allows me to go more often when I combine it with my DVC..
It is against the rules for II and RCI to trade an exchange or get anything of value. RCI has suggested that reimbursement of dues are OK though technically not legal. Direct exchanges using what you own or what you can reserve within a points system should be OK.
