Do AAA members

get 'preferred' parking spots at the theme parks? I am not exactly sure what a 'preferred' spot it, but it sounds good to me.

Anyone ever take advantage of this? Or was I the victim of an April Fool?

I think you have to buy your entire Disney package (resort, tickets) in order to get a Diamond Parking space in the AAA lot.

Call your local office and ask. They will know for sure!

You do need a special voucher to park in the Diamond lots at the theme parks. Some AAA offices only give them if you book a package, others will give them to you if you purchase your park admissions thru them. You would have to call your local office to find out

We booked our trip through AAA in 2003 and also for this year. We got Diamond Parking Passes which were up close and personal. We also got a voucher for a free drink at the AAA VIP lounge which is in the Magic Kingdom in Tomorrowland. We thought that sounded kinda hokey, but around 2:30 on a hot hot hot day we ducked in there and it was wonderful. Free 20 oz drink, air conditioning, magazines, tv, activities for the kids, clean, quiet. We ended up spending an hour in there.

It'd be a great spot for a toddler (or mom) nap.

We purchased our park hoppers at a AAA local office and they gave me a parking pass. We were staying offsite so it was very nice. I thought they told me it was available to any AAA member. You may want to call your local office.

I've read that if you purchase a package through AAA, you will get these passes. However, we booked a package through AAA several years ago; and our TA claimed he knew nothing about this! Of course, that was before we learned how to save $ at WDW. We paid WAY too much for that trip! Never again.

You need to purchase the entire package (Tickets and hotel) entirely through AAA. But, I have read on these boards several occasions where if you ask nice enough, AAA will give you the Parkingpass and/or Diamond discount card if you only buy tickets.... Ask Nicely!

1) You are supposed to buy a full package from AAA.
2) We get them just by buying tickets.
3) We have also gotten them just by asking - even without a puchase.

We have never used the parking pass, since we always use the monorail or buses. We may drive to downtown disney this time and try it. We did use VIP lounge pass. It was a great plase for a short rest and something to drink. Our boys loved the movies and having a quiet place to cool off. Just being away from all the noise and busyness was a great break.
