Do a lot of people give their kids bubbles

Sure, you can find someone who will complain about ANYTHING. But whatever happened to using common sense when it comes to respecting others?

Exactly my point, using common sense. Sadly what may be "common sense" to you or me never occurs to other people. After reading the DIS it sounds like WDW has become a big "free for all", with lots of people who justify what they are doing because it is what they want. You have people who want to ban bubbles from a kid friendly environment because they don't like them. But no one wants to ban liquor.:rotfl2:

Let me just say this whole thread has me laughing so hard :lmao:

We are a group of adults, whose common interest is visiting a theme park where we can submerge ourselves in the wonders of childhood....

But bubbles :scared1:

Not the bubbles!:scared1:

It's not so much the bubbles themselves that would bother me, it's the kids' reaction to them. I have yet to see a small child politely stand and watch bubbles fly through the air. They have to jump up and down and run around and flail their arms to catch them. That would be very annoying in line!

And this one set me over the edge of hysterria. Darn kids being so happy. What the heck is wrong with them? Can't they all just stand still in line and act like.... grown ups so we can enjoy ourselves and act like children.... There is irony in there somewhere...

Well this took a turn I wasn't expecting...

Let me clarify for the record, I'm not allergic to bubbles. I just don't like them, I think they feel gross. If there are kids using bubbles waiting for a parade or a show or something, I'll just move away (taking a few steps left or right usually does the trick) But in a queue line that's not as possible which is why I was just asking if it was common, if it was, I'd bring that some purell or something along with me to "wash" off the soapy film or whatever.

to the people who answered the question, thank you.

sooo do you all stay out of the rides where the bubbles fall on you? or away from the fake snow during christmas time?

well...ive never seen this happen...but it really wouldnt bother me

Could it be that that poster was concerned for safety reasons? You don't think a child could hurt themselves, or knock someone else down, while trying to chase the bubbles? Most kids don't just stand their quietly and watch bubble float by. Easy enough to hit one of those chains and go flying.

I have 2 nieces and 1 nephew. Maybe next time we go to WDW I will let them all bring bazookas and let them play in line. It will sure as heck keep them entertained. Or maybe yo-yos. They can do round the world, and I guarantee you (as much as I can) they won't accidentally hit anyone. Even if they do hit someone, they can just shake it off and move on. No biggie.

Hey, as long as they are happy that is all that matters, right?;) And anyone who complains is just a big fun sucker.

:lmao: Bubbles and bazookas. This is great.:lmao:
I guess I am just a bit too Peter Pan in a grown ups world as I don't really see the harm in bubbles, and the subsequent chasing. Have fun with your bazookas though :rotfl:

Why would this make you hysterical? Do you really think it's a good idea to encourage kids to run after bubbles and fling their arms around to pop them in a crowded line? There are appropriate times and places for activities like that, such as playgrounds or other open areas. There are plenty of other ways to keep small children not only entertained, but darn happy while waiting in line for a ride.

And clearly Disney doesn't have a problem with it since they have bubble machines set up, bubbles in attractions, "snow" bubbles on Mainstreet and at the Studios, cast members blowing bubbles and they sell various bubble devices.

I've actually never used bubbles in line. The kids are happy when we are there and we go off season so lines are not an issue. However, yes I think getting mad about kids chasing bubbles is funny.

pro and con bubble folk. . .watch out for the garbage cans near the castle at the MK. . .in the a.m. 'round rope drop (perhaps at other times I don't know), they have bubbles coming out of 'em! (outfitted with bubble machines!). . .yeah, I know this isn't the same as what you are all writing about . . .but I wanted to chime in :0

Only at WDW do the trash cans emit bubbles... They probably smell like flowers, too....

:cool1:

Is it possible that you meant kazoos?

I certainly hope she wouldn't be giving her kids man-portable Rocket Launchers to play with. :lmao: Although, I don't know anyone with Rocket Launcher allergies. :confused3 It could cause someone to phone Child Protective Services, but eh - as long as it gives the toddlers something to do in line.

Oh come on...they're just little rocket launchers!

i would never carry bubbles around the parks. even if there were a fool-proof-spill-proof way, i would never give my kids bubbles in the parks. my kids are maniacs when there are bubbles around. i mean come on, who blows bubbles to just look at them? mine blow them to chase them, stomp on them, jump in the air and try to catch them. who wants that crap going on in the line?

Must be a regional thing. We call them bazookas. Bazooka, kazoo, whatever. You all were bright enough to figure it out.

Though a bazooka as you mean it could be good too.;)

But yet they don't have any bubble blowers in lines, do they. Hmmm.:scratchin
