DME with carry-on bags

I'll be taking a trip to WDW soon and will be using the Magical Express bus service for the first time. I'm only planning on using carry-on bags right now. So do I just take that right on the bus with me too and it will stay with me for the ride to the resort? And I'd then take care of it myself, rather than having it delivered to my room at a later time, like they do with the checked luggage. Is that correct?

Also, if my room is not ready when I check in at the resort, is there a safe place they can store my bag if I decide to go to a park? And can they do the same when I check out, if I go to a park that day since my flight home won't be until later that evening?

I hope I didn't make those questions too confusing! I just want to make sure that I figure this all out now rather than worry about it at the last minute!

Carryon bags are no problem on DME. Just bring it with you to the bus. The driver might offer to stow it underneath the bus for the ride. Keep in mind, the overhead bins on the buses are much smaller than the ones on the plane. You'll get your bag back at your resort, not to worry.
If your room is not ready when you arrive you can have your bag stored in the luggage room of the resort.
