Hi all,

My flight gets in at 4:30pm, and we're using DME to get to our hotel, POR. I know travel time depends on how long the line to get on the bus will be, traffic, where the hotel is located along the bus's route, etc. etc. but I'm trying to arrange dinner reservations for our first night at Boatwright's, on POR property.

Has anyone ever taken DME to POR and can tell me about how long it takes? I'm mainly trying to determine if a 7:30pm reservation is doable.

Thank you!!

7:30 should be very doable. The last two times I have taken DME to BW, the bus has stopped at POR first..making it the first stop on the route.
If you arrive, ontime, at 4:30, you should be at POR no later than 6. The average time from deplaning to resort is about 70 mins.
That's with this breakdown...
10-15 mins from plane to DME
15 mins in line at checkin counter
15 mins in bus line
30 mins to resort

Those are average times though...you may experience shorter times on occasion and longer waits at other times. My longest waits have been...25 mins in checkin line but that was about double my previous time and only happened once. 20 mins in bus line but again, a one time occurance. 20 mins on the bus, but that was not usual. And there was the 50 min ride that included the first two stops having to deal with a huge amount of luggage to be dealth with...again, not the common experience. And those things did not happen all on the same trip!!!

You can always figure on any ME to any resort is going to be about 90 minutes after you get off the plane.

I have gone to POR many times on ME; we have always been the last stop on my trips, so you can see how much it varies.

Great, thanks so much for all the help. I made our ADRs at 2:00 this morning, and ended up getting an 8pm seating. Guess we'll definitely have enough time now! :)

When I have taken DME to POFQ, the bus has stopped at Saratoga Springs and Old Key West first.

Imagine my surprise when I got on the DME bus last April, going to BW and it went to POR as well. That was a first for me!!! The route had always been YC/BC/BW, and sometimes CBR. Once the bus stopped at the Dolphin for a land/sea person. But, when my dh joined us at BWV last month, the bus went to POR first then as well. Looks like it may be the new route. But, at least that new route puts POR first stop. And it's just a quick drive over to BW from POR...much closer than you would think.

Last Dec, we took DME to OKW..the bus also went to SSR and POR/FQ. Must have made the change this spring. Just goes to show how truly fluid the route system is...nothing is etched in stone..more like mud.
