I am staying at the Polynesian hotel and the room is in my name. My reservations is showing 2 adults. One of the adults is in my name but I won't be in the room, it will be just my mom and sister. I can't book the room under their name b/c I received a coupon for a discounted room. They send two tickets/coupon for the DME back to the airport. I will be driving home earlier that day and was hoping they could take the DME back to the airport later in the day. What is the chance that the driver will look at the ticket and realize that it's not my sister on the ticket but it's my name (her brother)? I've never taken the bus and don't know much about it.

I'm confused about where you will be staying. Usually if you book 2 room on a discount both rooms will list the occupants not necessarily who has the discount will be listed on both rooms.. Any how they don't check ID's with the DME.

We have always just handed our DME boarding document to the driver and got on..... no ID check or anything....

I'm confused as well. Who is actually listed on the room reservation and who is actually staying in the room?? You have to be listed since you got the discount, and you have to be there in order to checkin and get the discount. So, I assume that one of the other two people is there without being listed on the room? Right? If that's the case, how is this person going to have a room key? Or be able to use EMHs??
Are you staying in another room?? If so, I would add that second person to your room reservation....that way she would be able to get all the benefits.

I do know that our drivers have looked pretty carefully at our vouchers. And they do have our names on them. I'm not sure if there would be an issue if a woman tried to use a voucher with a man's name on it. How is she getting to the resort to begin with??

First of all, it sounds like a couple of things are going on here - it sounds like you are booking a room for two people, but three people are staying in it. That means that only two people will have a room key and only two people will be noted as staying on-site.

So that means only those two people can legitimately ride the ME bus, since the reservation is for two. And it should be the primary guest, which is you and one other person. That third person is legitimately NOT a guest at the resort and therefore would not have priviledges that are part of the resort guest package, which would include ME.

IMHO, just because you happen to be driving back and don't need ME necessarily means that you can give your ticket to your sister to use to ride the ME in your place, since she appears as the way you explained it, she is not paying to stay on-site.

However, I could completely be reading it wrong, and then my apologies would be in order.

I'm sorry, but you have lost me. Do you have 2 rooms, or just 1? Or did you book a room under your name to get a discount, but you won't be in it? :confused3

DME doesn't make you show an ID to match your name to the DME voucher. But I do think the driver will notice if the voucher is for a guy and a girl is trying to use it. Unless you have a name that is not gender specific like Pat.;)

I agree that the explanation is not that clear, but just wanted to add that you have to show ID when you check in. So if you're not on the room - or not staying in the room, I guess is what you said(?), and whatever thing your booking is only applicable to you (so AP rate, or PIN code or whatever), you would need to be there with your ID to check-in to get that deal.

In the very unlikely event the driver notices the name just say something like my idiot brother (son) gave me his voucher. His flight gets in this afternoon. Wait until he tries to use my ticket.

That said checking into the hotel is the real issue. Sounds like that won't be an issue.

Why don't you just add the last adult to your reservation for the last day? It won't cost you very much and you will ensure that your sister will have a ME ticket back to the airport.

My experience with ME recently has been that they purposely said our name (as a courtesy/customer service)... thanks Ms XXX for choosing Poly and using ME, climb aboard....maybe that was just club level experience, I do not recall that at por :confused3
As far as room goes, the person who used the code/pin etc and all occupants that are adults show ID.
Good Luck!
