DME the next day

We will be flying in a night before we planned on (late at night). And are thinking about staying at the airport hyatt since we will have 3 sleeping kids. How will this work with DME? Can we take it in the morning? Say around 9? We would have our bags with us. Will that be a problem? Thanks.

No problem at all. Many people do just that. Just give them (DME), the info for a flight that is arriving right around the time you want to use DME. Bring your bags with you and they will go underneath your bus.

In addition, if you actually stay at the Hyatt at the airport, they have a wonderful service through their Bell Services.

Bring your yellow tags with you. When you check out of the Hyatt, place them on your bags. Bell Services will get your bags to the backstage DME sorting facility and your bags will be delivered to your resort room!!! (A tip to Hyatt's Bell Services is appropriate).

That way you don't have to drag your bags downstairs and onto/under the bus.

I have personally done it. We stayed at Residence Inn off the airport. They had a free shuttle. We collected out bags, took the shuttle to/from the airport. We told them we were going to ME and they dropped us off right there.

We had given them a flight that arrives that day and all was set. I also used it back to the airport even though I was NOT flying out. I was renting a car and were staying off property the last two nights...... worked great. I took ME while the family slept in at POR. I drove back, loaded the luggage and off to our Marriott Vacation Club we went.... worked great!

Thanks for asking this question! I was just discussing this very topic with my mother day. She wants to fly in the night before as she doesn't have nearly as many flight options as us.

We're doing that very thing this week. Our first set of DME mailings had the first flight of Saturday (we arrive Friday) on the arrival info page. I should note: the SWA flight listed arrives about 2 hours later than we'll probably be there to catch DME. A few days later, out of the blue, we got a completely new mailing. It listed only our return flight. So, I called DME to ask about this. They said it didn't matter that no flight info was listed on the arrival day voucher. I was told we could just show up, with our packet as is. We're looking forward to using it for the first time. We decided to save the Towncar money this trip for other things.

yep, the actual arrival time does not matter as long as you have a reservation for the day you are going to use it. In fact, all DME packets list a generic arrival time because they know that flight times can and do change.

The big thing is to make sure they have your departure info correct so you can be on the correct bus BACK to MCO on the day of departure.
