Hi, we are just back from CBR and wanted to share for anyone who may not know, you can send your luggage to the airport with DME without taking it yourself. We already had a towncar service booked and payed for but figured not having to check in everything at the airport would make life easier. So we called bell services and they said sure no problem. Our flight left at 11:45 so my husband and the bags were picked up at 8, he had no problems and very short wait, then we all had breakfast at the food court and were picked up at 9:30 and headed to MCO. Very easy and convenient!

I think you are confusing RAC and DME. Going home, if you check your bags in at the resort, you are taking advantage of Resort Airline Check-in, which is a seperate thing from DME. Using RAC is just like checking in at the airport. You hand off your luggage and don't see it again until you are home. You don't have to use DME to use Resort Airline Check-in. You can do one or the other or both.

Oh, I didn't realize they were two seperate things, my mistake. When I spoke with bell services they referred to it as Magical Express.

Going home you do not need to reserve or ride the Magical Express bus in order to check your baggage at the resort.

Do you have to sign up for Magical Express to do this?

No but there are some limitations, the RAC desk is open from 5am to 1 pm daily, your luggage must be completely checked in minimum of 3 hours before your flight, they can't make exceptions to that policy because the computer locks them out. Just make sure you allow enough time in case of a line it is a great service, I use it all the time.

You also have to be flying on a "participating airline" to use RAC.

Disney continues to lump DME and RAC together, which makes it confusing at times for the guest. They are two entirely different entities. You do NOT need to ride the DME bus back to MCO in order to check your bags at your resort. You merely need to be staying at that resort, be able to get your business finished no less than 3 hrs prior to flight departure time and be flying on a 'participating airline'.
As noted....the RAC hours are limited, so plan accordingly.

Yep, I'm a big fan of RAC. We have used it for years! This is a great perk. Yes, the hours are important to note and I make sure I never book an early flight. Keep in mind that this is basically "curb side" service but located at the resort. You should remember to tip accordingly as these folks are not cast members. This is one service I tend to over tip at because I really appreciate it. I've used this service over 25 times now since it began many years ago and have always been happy with it!
