DME or town car

None of the above - we prefer to rent a car.

But if you must chose one of them, then I'd do DME simply because its free.

we do towncar only because we can leave when we want to and not have to wait for all others to be picked up.

If we stay at a Disney resort, we will definitely do DME. It worked very well for us last month. It was comfortable, fast and free!

However, we also like to stay at the Swan and since they don't participate in DME, we use a town car which is also a very convenient option, although will cost about $100-120 including tip. But we do the 30 minute grocery stop, so that saves us a little on food.

I like DME better, just because I hate having to wait to get my luggage. For me, the luggage delivery is the best part of DME.

However, if I was on a quick trip and packed carry-on only, I would go with a town car. If I'm on a tight schedule, the hour or so you gain by using a town car is worth the money.

Depends. If I want a 'nicer' experience, and my budget isn't a problem, I'll book a towncar service. BUT...I haven't had any issues with DME. Yes, you do get picked up 3 hrs before your flight, but that is only an hour earlier than when I use a towncar. And I have no problem with it taking me an average of 70 mins with DME (gate to resort). I love not having to schlep my bags from baggage claim to the resort.
When using a car service, the shortest time I have had was 45 mins...I had carryon bags only....so no wait at baggage claim. But, if I have checked bags, it routinely takes me about an hour total..gate to resort...with a car service.
If I'm paying for a car service ride, then I am not going to wait for my bags to arrive via DME. I put up with that delay only because I'm not paying for the ride.

So...you can see that I use both. I tend to use DME more than a car service. I order groceries from a grocery delivery service. I can buy a lot of groceries with the money I save by taking DME. BUT....there are times that I like using a car service.

DME for me too! (Though to be honest I've never used towncar or a taxi to get to WDW from MCO. We usually took the airport shuttle.)

As for DME, I loved not having to wait for my luggage at MCO and then transport it through the airport to the car rental. The same was true for the return home. We took the luggage to the check-in counter at our resort (Beach Club) and didn't have to worry about the luggage until we got to our final airport.

My family and I have never had a problem with DME - either in terms of waiting for the bus or getting our luggage delivered. Getting to the parks was easy and we didn't have to waste time taking our luggage to our rooms after check-in. Leaving the park about three hours before our flight didn't seem that early to us because we probably would have left about then anyway.

what is your preference: DME, taxi, or town car?

We always - ALWAYS rent cars to avoid Disney transportation.

Once my DH arranged for a Town Car at LAX for an anniversary trip to Disneyland and our favorite Grand Cali. I felt like a PRINCESS.

What a wonderful way to transfer to a Disney Resort.....talk about Pixie Dust.......no waiting in line ...... no shuffling in a group to board......just......"may I hold the door for you....may I adjust the music for you......may I adjust the temperature for your comfort."
