DME on non-flight day?

Hi all. We're starting our trip with 3 days at DVC Vero, then heading to OKW. Since we'll need a rental car to get to Vero Beach but won't need one once we get to old Key West, I'm wondering if we can take the rental car back to the airport and take Magical Express from there to old Key West, even though that wouldn't be the day of our flight.

does anyone know if this is possible?

Yes -

Just make the reservation with DME based on the time you would like to leave the airport after returning the rental. Or some people find it easier to just find a flight that lands about the time you want to leave and then book DME using that "dummy" flight.

If you call DME directly they can usually make the reservation without a flight, if you call reservations they will probably have an easier time using a flight.

OT but check your rental rates as it is sometimes the same cost to return the car to WDW or a DTD disney property as it is to return to the airport. This way you could drop off your things at OKW and then return the car right on property.
