DME HELP!! Reservations

I have read somewhere on here about needing a dummy reservations. I have asked my travel agent and she has been less than helpful but she said that we can't do dummy reservations and I can figure it out and get back to her? So here is my plan that needs help!

We get into Orlando on Nov 26 and are planning on staying at the Hilton for the night since we are getting in late. They have airport shuttles. So the plan was to sleep there and then come back to the airport and then hop on the DME to go to the hotel to start our Disney vacation on Nov 27. We don't mind carrying our luggage but need the shuttle to get there.

We were planning on doing that on the way back also. Checking out that morning and having them hold our luggage and at the end of the night going back to the hotel, hopping on the DME with our luggage and then going to the airport. then using there shuttle service to Hilton...

Please let me know if I am doing something wrong... Thanks for all your help!
 
You just need to put that u want to use magical express and give them a flight number that arrives on the day you want to take magical express (day you check out of hilton.)

Thanks! She made me feel as though I am really breaking the rules and she would not help me! So times, are not that important, so get them as close as possible? Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!
 
You don't really need to give them a flight number at all. Just call them and tell them the date you're arriving. If the CM says that they need a flight number, just say you don't have one yet.

It sounds like your TA doesn't really know what she's doing. Keep an eye on that.

The pp is right, really you don't even need to give then a flight number, just the day. It would make me feel better to give them one (no idea why lol), but if you are going to give them one just anything on that day will be fine. Also, I second what the pp said about your TA not really knowing what she's doing, so just be careful and don't take her answers as an absolute.

Something someone with a TA should never say.
So yeah, I'd be worried about your TA too.

Bingo. Every WDW resort guest is entitled to round trip transportation to and from the airport. When and how you use those entitlements during your stay does not matter to Disney. It does not have to be on the actual day you fly in.
 
Just wanted to let all of you know... I booked it myself!! Thanks for all the help! I called them and the CM was so nice, he kind-of giggled and said "we want you to get here, it isn't a problem just put the day you are starting your vacation to get on the DME. It just had to be the same day your vacation starts. He did give me the website address to put my own DME request in and it worked great. so, We are good to go!

I have to ask, is your TA internet based or from a brick and mortar agency?

Not to nit pick but for those reading along for info now and in the future you were given slightly incorrect info. You don't have to use DME "the same day your vacation starts" (or return on the day it ends)! It just has to be "during" your stay and not before or after. My sil often joins us during our vacation and has used the service after we have arrived or departs prior to us with no issues.

Every resort guest is entitled to round trip DME during the resort stay regardless of when or how they get to the airport! You do however have to make an advance reservation.

And it's the annoying situations like this that make me glad I book my own trips. No benefit to using a TA here....just added stress!!!

From reading your opening post, I have a concern for you. Did you also book your return trip on DME? You said you wanted to spend the day in the park and get on the bus in the evening and go to the Hilton. Return bus service works differently. It is actually scheduled pick up times, 3 hours prior to your flight. You can NOT just get on any bus in the evening. They very well may be filled with reservations for that bus. You will need to give DME a flight out that evening that is approximately 3 hours prior to when you would like to go to the airport. The later in the evening the harder that becomes, as there are fewer and fewer departing flights out of MCO.

Yes you are correct I did say that in my opening post but in the mean time I changed my flights to leave that night. We got a great deal on the flight that last day and now we don't have to stay at Hilton for the night. SO, it made that leg of the trip much easier when it comes to DME. Thanks for the information as I did not know that. It really would have made it difficult.
