We have never flown Airtran and will be flying to and from Philadelphia. We were originally booked on SW but changed b/c of a great sale. As I understood it, with SW we had to take our luggage to the bus when leaving WDW but with other airlines you could check your luggage in the lobby. Which way does Airtran work? Do I even have this correct?

We flew Airtran in May and had to take our luggage to the bus with us when we left.

Airtran is not one of the airlines that is a participating airline, therefore you will have to take your luggage. I used a non participating air line last week, it really was no problem. I had the CM at the concierge desk print my boarding pass, the day of my departure the bus driver took our bags, put them in the luggage compart under the bus, they were separated according to airline, when we got to the airport then you are dropped off at either A or B terminal depending on your airline. Then you need to find your airline and check your bags and off you go.
