DME after flying in the night before

We're staying on property except for the first night. Our flight arrives close to midnight, so we're planning to spend the rest of that night at a hotel near the airport. When morning comes, can we shuttle back to the airport and catch the Magical Express to our WDW hotel? Is that within the rules?

If so, do we need to make a Magical Express reservation or just show up at the counter the next morning?

Yes, that is allowed, and yes, you need to make a ME reservation.

Just give them a flight time that arrives approximately when you plan to get back to the airport.

Here's my 2 cents of advice since I'm in the same situation. Call ME and tell them your plans, no need to find a flight time that lands when you think you might be back to the airport. The woman i spoke to had no problem with it at all.

If you're traveling without kids and don't mind a late night, i found that a room at one of the value resorts was pretty darn close in cost to one of the "airport hotels" I'm aware that it might be close to 1:30 by the time we check-in but who cares, i know I'm not gonna sleep that night anyway (simply toooooo excited ) Planning on checking out uber-early and going to check-in to our "real" resort, get our package set up and hit the parks by 9-ish.
