DLRP Here we come

I know its a good deal, but this has to be the most complicated booking of a trip I have ever undertaken.

2 Families and a shared grandmother heading to DLRP. Mixing clubcard deals and airmiles along the way - two weeks to sort it all out.

On the 23rd of July we are heading to the Hotel Cheyenne for 5 days and 4 nights - For us it's the first time we have had any interaction with Disney - For my sister and mother, familiar territory as they have each done at least one disney holiday.

Have realised that apart from Toy Story, my kids know nothing about disney, the only mouse they recognise is Jerry.

So sister will drive 200 miles to us in south london the night before we travel, then up at 4am to head for Dover in convoy and 6am ferry to Calais followed by a 3.5 hour drive to Paris. We hope to make DLRP by 1pm.

After DLRP we while sis heads home we are going on a camping trip through France.

So, for a completely un-disney family, are we going to enjoy it? Son is 4 and Daughter 2. Is this a case of bingeing on disney films for the next 4 months to bring them up to speed?

We have booked the half board standard, any idea how much it is to upgrade to halfboard plus?

What should we definitely do whilst there? Meals, rides etc?

welcome to the forums

you will have a blast , we went last year on our 1st trip , and loved every minute. we have booked to go back this year.
we also stayed in cheyenne and will stay there again in october

im sure someone more experienced will be along soon, who can advise what rides/meals

we eat at cafe mickey - was fab , and will deffo go back there
the all you can eat buffet @cheyenne is another must do

half board plus i think is £5 more per adult and £2 per child

Hi there

My first ever trip to DLRP is coming up next week (also paid for with airmiles and visiting the Cheyenne lol)

From what i have heard on here kids of whatever age are going to love it, as it's a magical experience! My kids are very young so I had the same worries about them enjoying things. Although we are a family who are nuts for Disney!! lol
I would think that even if they haven't seen all the films it wont matter they will learn who is who there and you don't need to know whaich character is which to enjoy the rides.

There are lots of things in DLRP which are not necessarily built around Disney characters (Its a Small World for example, plus lots of rides suitable for young children in Fantasyland).
