We are a family of 5 head to DLR in approx 3 weeks. Me, DH, DD 12, DD9, and DS 6. On June 11 DS broke his arm (full 90 degree angulation - yuk). At our last appoint, the orthopedist said we will take off his cast at next appt (July 26). I mentioned that was good luck as it was right before our vacation. Well, that got the doctor to reconsidering. He asked where we were headed (San Diego and DL) and decided we should wait until we return. His concern isn't so much DL as as San Diego and the beach. We already cut down the number of times we are going to the beach to just one, but didn't eliminate it altogether as DDs would be very disappointed. The doctor knows my son (second broken arm) and felt like he would be too tempted to run on the beach and splash in water, thus falling down and trying to break his fall with a newly healed fractured arm. So that is the reason for the postponment.
Anyhow, we have purchased a waterproof cover for the cast on beach day, but I got to thinking about rides at Disney. I can't seem to think of any that would be prohibited because of an arm cast (hand to above elbow), but perhaps some of you out there have had some experience with this. Any problems I should anticipate that I haven't addressed? If there is something out there he can't do, I just want to prepare him in advance to avoid too much disappointment. TIA for any and all suggestions.
