Going June 28 - July 1
Me, DH, DD7 and DD9 (want to ride all rides, meet all height requirements)
All with AP's so no MM
Lowest SoCal AP blacked out, but top 3 are not
Staying at Hojo

We are expert DLR travelers even in big crowds (know how to be there at opening, collect FP's, etc.) but the new rides are throwing me for a loop.

We arrive in the pm of June 28, so we will do whatever we can. Maybe just shows and parades.

Luckily June 29 and July 1 are not MM days, so we are on even footing with everyone else.

On Wed June 29 I plan to go to ST first to get FP. Is that the newest suggestion for order of FP collection?
Would you ride if Standby line is short (at park opening) or would you get a FP and then go to FL to get through those rides? I am not sure if riding ST multiple times (to see the different story lines) is worth losing precious short line time in FL.
Are people trying to collect 2 sets of ST FP's before starting on SM or IJ?

Given that we don't have MM for Thursday, June 30, I was going to make that our DCA morning day after going to DL to collect FP's.

How would you deal with Little Mermaid given that we are not staying onsite and the lines will be long by the time we get into the park?
When should we line up for DCA?
Is the line for LM shorter in the am for those coming in at regular opening, or is it worth trying to hit it later in the day? (I've learned that TSMM is shorter later in the day than first thing in the am. Is LM the same way?)

Any thought about how Goofy's Sky School, which opens of Friday, July 1 will affect crowds?
It had FP as Mulhulland Madness. Should I assume that it will still have FP's?

Any and all current touring strategies will be appreciated!

TIA:wizard:

I would FP ST first, ride it first if the line is short. It has over 50 variations so the chance is low that you will get the same ride twice so it's worth doing twice if the line isn't big.

Last night someone said LM opened at 9:30am when DCA opens to the general guests. So I would be there then to do it, because lines built quickly, but moved quickly too.

Goofy's Sky School will have FP again so it could be a lower priority.

I was wondering too. We might go in December and the new rides have me spinning. :upsidedow

I'm bumping this because I'm sure there will be Dis'ers who will be visiting this weekend & next week & may offer additional comments.

I would bet that SkiingFast's strategies are solid.....but it's always good to get double confirmation from troops on the ground. pirate:

Hound, thanks for the bump.

I am reading that FP's for ST are gone for the day extremely early, so I know to get that FP first. I plan to do that all three days we are there, so hopefully we'll see at least 3 different versions.

I am still not sure about where to place PP and other FL rides in the mix.

I am also curious how long the LM line is at 9:30 given that onsite guests are getting in at 9:00.

Hopefully goers in the next two weeks will have more insight!

I was wondering these exact things^^^We will be there in July...and have one MM...

I have not been there yet this summer but this is our plan based on info so far.

We arrive on a Sunday afternoon/early evening. We plan to head to DCA and check out the line for Mermaid and probably ride that since it doesn't have FPs (except for hotel guests) anyway. I'm hoping that the line will go down a little by the late afternoon. There isn't a lot to do in the afternoon with no FPs so, we plan to give that a try.

The next morning we will head straight to ST FPs with everyone else. Then maybe go to FL. I'm thinking most FL rides will still be short lines with the exception of PP. We will check ST for our second FP but I've been hearing they are gone by then. But we will look and see.

Are those dates set in stone? I would not visit then *those are the last days before the S CA AP summer blocks begin *perhaps you're S CA AP holders.....

Why not push your visit back a week or 2?

I like this idea. We will head to LM on our arrival day to check the line.

PP is the only FL ride I want to get through quickly. I just know how fast that line can build. I am not expecting to be able to get a second set of ST FP's each day. I am hoping for one set each of the three days we are there.

Yes, they are, unfortunately, set in stone. Originally we were going in mid-July, but we had to change, and this was the only week available for us.

We are deluxe AP holders. I have already lamented on these boards my frustration with one level of SoCal AP's being open during our dates. I thought that by the end of June, all SoCal AP's were blocked. I have been told that most the majority of the SoCal AP's are the lowest level ones, and they are blocked for my dates.

I just have to hope that we can handle the locals getting into see the rides before they are blocked for the summer. :thumbsup2

Instead of trying to get a FP for ST first thing all three days, I might devote one morning to riding ST twice (one standby first thing and one FP) and then making another morning all about Fantsyland. That way you still get to ride ST multiple times and you don't have to stand in a long line for PP either.

So, one day is all about ST in the morning. Get FP, do standby. Another day would be getting to Fantasyland first and bypassing ST altogether. Another day grab ST FP first and then collect other FPs as available. That way you are still riding ST same number of times and getting on PP first thing.

Whatever you decide, have fun! :goodvibes

I thought the same thing. We figured by the time we were going all the So CAL AP's would be blocked. You'd think so by LATE June. Makes me feel like complaining to Disney about it. That's summer already for most people! I am grateful that it won't be the last days for us that they can go, and I am also hoping that most have the lower level (which is blocked). Oh well what can you do, just try to make the best of it.
