Decision: Planning to visit DLR (using last day of 3 day hopper) and Universal Hollywood on last 2 days of vacation, a Saturday and Sunday. Which day for which Park?

Scenario: Have rental car, 1 Magic Morning for DL still available, DL open until Midnight on both days, mid-May of this year (a little under 2 weeks prior to Memorial Day).

Leaning towards Universal on Saturday (have usually gone on Sundays in the past) and DLR on Sunday (maybe lighter crowds Sunday night than Saturday night?).

It's been about 6 years since last visit, and not quite sure on how to plan the weekend days. Appreciate any advice.

Generally, the Theme Parks of the Disneyland Resort are busier on Sundays than on Saturdays due to the Blackout Date distribution on the various Annual Passports, in particular the two Southern California ones.

As to Universal Studios Hollywood, I haven't a clue about their up and down periods. However, their Annual Pass Blackout Date distribution (they don't have many most of the year) would suggest that they might be busier on Saturdays than on Sundays.

glendalais, Thanks for info regarding blackout dates. I will stick with Saturday at DLR and Sunday at Universal.

We visited Universal last Sunday (4/5) and it wasn't too busy. It was our first visit so I have no idea how busy it was compared to other days. I don't think we waited over 15 minutes for any of the rides (most were just 5 minute waits).

BTW, the Simpsons was by far the best ride (at least we enjoyed it the most). I don't think the people sharing our car with us enjoyed it very much but they could have just thought we were stupid for screaming on a simulator ride.

We did end up staying the whole day. I really thought it would just take us a few hours and we'd be out of there but we were there from about 10:30 to 7 p.m.

Afterwards we stopped in Hollywood to look at the Walk of Fame and that was fun.
