My DH, DD (almost 4), and I are going to DLR in August and I wanted to make my husband a Scavenger hunt of silly things to do or find at Disneyland and California Adventure. I have never been to DLR so I am not familiar enough to come up with the clues. They can be in any form - rhyme, clue, or just a prompt of something to complete.

What can you come up with?!

I'm new to Disneyland so I wont be any help, but I want to say what a great idea & I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with. popcorn::

If you want to go hunting for something, a neat thing to do is to go to city hall and get a list of the "hidden mickeys" in the park. Or you can print the list online. You could spend all day looking for em, especially because some are on rides!

the hiddin mickeys has a list? i never knew that i could go to city hall for the list. lol

You could also make a check list of Disney characters and check it off when you see one. Even if you don't want to stand in line and/or meet each one, just seeing them would count.

:cutie:

When we were at DL a couple of 'ears ago, there were some people doing a scavenger hunt. I always thoug it was a great idea. We were on Main St. getting ready to get the kids silouttes pix done, when one of them asked me to take a picture of them, so of course I did.

I do not know what items were on their list, but how they were doing it was their group had to take picutres with whatever/whoever was on the list. I took a picture of them in front of the "building" to the left of the siloutte (or however you spell that) studio, which is actually a fake buiding, nothing inside this one.

I always though a hunt like that would be fun, make a list of items/characters, and get pictures in front of them, like that fake building, the golden spike, jose the macaw, specific characters, etc....

HTH!!

This can be a really fun activity at the parks, and getting pictures will also give you lasting memories that you can scrapbook. Just PLEASE be careful not to ask for pictures inside the attractions where flash photography could ruin the experience for other guests.

My plan for the photo quest was to use a couple disposable cameras, check off the list as items are found and develop the pictures later.

Also, another fun thing to do is to collect pressed pennies. I never imagined there were so many but found out that there are machines practically everywhere! Here's a website that lists the locations. http://www.parkpennies.com/disneylandpennychecklists/disneylandchecklist.htm

Fun thing to add to your list:
A picture with a cast member with family member's name on nametag. (Or, if your family members have unique names, "A picture with a cast member with name starting with same letter.")

Thanks everyone! These are great suggestions.

The Mouse for Less trivia will be fun for my DD especially when we go to Toon Town and the other ideas are great for all of us. My daughter is a huge character hunter and she will love trying to check them off of the scavenger hunt.

Keep 'em coming!!!

I just wanted to say thank you to Mariezp. I tried your homemade scavenger hunt in April & had tons of fun with it. (I didn't even know that some of the ride cars had names .) It took me to some places at DL that I normally don't go to. Thanks for expanding my horizons.:goodvibes

I have been told at one point DL had its own unofficial scavenger hunt that began by getting a list at city hall and ending with a thing you sign on a hidden scroll in sleeping beauty's castle. I never did it, but a friend swore she did. Anyone else know about this? Did it ever or does it still exist? This could be something for the OP to do if its real.

You all have some great ideas! We go to DL for a week every October but we may have to try this idea out this year!

You are amazing!!! Can I borrow them??
Absolutely!

That is so cool! Glad to hear you had fun with it!

My guys saw the list on my computer when I was posting it on here and made mention that it might be fun. Who knows... maybe some of my bunch will actually put it to good use when we go in November!
