DLR Guests: Get Up & Go Power Walk

I don't know specifics because I didn't do the walk, but for what it's worth when I was walking through Downtown Disney this past Sunday morning around 8am (towards the parks) i saw a group of four people (the guide and three guests) heading back towards the DLH.

Thanks for the report. I would guess that on days when DCA opens early, the Power Walk starts at the DLH and goes through Downtown Disney. And then on days when DCA opens later, they'll meet in the GCH and go into DCA.

Curious as well...headed to DL in 15 days and would love to do the morning walks, espeically since park openings aren't until 10 am!

We didn't DO the walk in October, but we were planning to - until we got the details. They told me that the walk was still through DTD rather than the parks, and it started at the same time as EMH. So we would have had to choose between EMH and the walk, and of course EMH won out. It's possible that when the parks open a little later that they won't overlap, but they said that it was probably going to stay in DTD from now on.

I called them from the GCH I think November 1, 2012 and they also stated it only goes through Downtown Disney. I didn't try it to be sure...I actually had a free morning, but I was tired after 2 full days in the parks so I chose to sleep in. Assuming the walk really went through Downtown Disney, I believe made the right choice.

It's back! I just checked in to the VGC yesterday (best ... hotel ... ever, by the way), and they announced that starting this Tuesday, January 29th at 6:55am, DLR guests can meet at the Grand Californian Hotel's Grand Entrance, the one into DCA, for a Get Up & Go Power Walk through DCA.

I signed up to do it while the DW and DKids sleep in a little. Any DISers out there care to join me Tuesday morning for the first pre-opening Power Walk inside DCA since Cars Land opened? I hope they take us down Route 66.

2 mile walk, 30 minutes long.

Well, the best laid plans .... Last night, my DW and I decided to do a 7:30am Surf's Up Breakfast today before the 9am EMH at DL, so I backed out of the power walk. Maybe another day.

If anyone goes, I'd appreciate a report.

The Grand Californian Hotel is handing out their schedules now for the next week, and in it they show a trend ... on days where no one can get into DCA until 10am (i.e. Tuesdays and Thursdays), the Get Up and Go Power Walk goes through DCA. The other 5 days are split between a power walk through the Resorts (Wed/Sat) and an 8am Pilates class (Fri/Sun/Mon).

I want to go this Thursday. I'll give a report if I go.
