We will be @ DL the first week of April and I'm wondering where the DVC sales office is, what model rooms they have, and whether or not a person doing an add-on there that already has a WDW guide would qualify for any of the CA-only incentives (AP's, etc). I have no idea what will even be offered in April, but am trying to decide if we should set some time aside to check it out.

The DVC sales office is between the DL Hotel and Paradise Pier. When I was there in October they had SSR models, which was a 2 bedroom. I believe that they are now constructing the Grand Californian DVC models -- I remember something about a permit -- so I don't know what, if anything, is open now.

In October they were offering the developer points promotion like they just extended for a few more days. They really emphasize that if you buy 160 points from them you will get first shot at Grand Californian DVC. I have a California guide -- PM me if you want her name. I have a WDW guide, too, who I just used to do an add-on last week. My Mom and sister were with me and they got $200 for hearing the spiel.

Unless you hear of some good incentives going while you are there or the Calif models are open you may want to skip it, unless you've never been in a model and really want to see one. Honestly, I'm glad that I purchased before I ever saw a model because I was not impressed. And, of course, the models are nothing like VWL or AKL.

That's my 2 cents worth. Have a great time!

Thanks lisah -- we've got six days there and are repeat offenders so I'm sure we'll have some down time to go check it out. I'll just stop at one of the kiosks in the park first and ask a few questions. :thumbsup2

you may want to skip it

Think I read in some other thread where if you want other sales office deals... you'd need to have stopped in there prior and signed in. I'm not sure if I have this correct. But just for future needs, if I were ever near another sales office... I'd get signed in! You never know what future Disney marketing will be like!!!:surfweb:

Has anyone heard when the GCV models will be completed?

Our guide told us "Spring" when we asked. She wasn't sure what month at the time. They closed in January.

I hope the end of March qualifies as Spring. We'll be there after Easter and would love to see the models.

Me too! I've already seen both SSR and AKV in person, so it would be nice to see something new.

Oh yes! If they did have the new models open then it would be worth a stop for sure.
