DH and I are WDW vets- love it there- and love DTD. I know that DTD at DLR has no Pleasure Island :sad1: (The Adventurer's Club is the best, and the comedy club is SO funny!)

I've seen the list of stores at DTD at DLR, but I', just wondering if there is nearly as much to do and look at at DTD-DLR. Can anyone comment on how the two DTDs compare?

Thanks!

I have been to both and just LOVE WDW DTD!!!!! It's the best. So much better than DLs. I wish ours was half of wdw's. There is so much to do at Florida's DTD. Just my humble opinion. Ours is nice and there are food places, lego store and cinema, but we were shocked at how most of the stores at DTD wdw were Disney themed as ours are not really. i.e. goofys sweet shop, Disney pets, Poohs shop, etc...

Hope this helps.

Thanks- that was pretty much the impression I got. I was hoping to get DH's relatives (who live in Long Beach and Riverside, and who we are staying with before and after our DLR stay) to visit us so we would have something to do in the evening, but I think it is probably too long a drive for them to want to do it on a work night....

Ok their are very few things I give WDW the edge too I have to say Pleasure Island does it!. While the idea of the shops in DTD at WDW was cool, I thought some of them seemed kind of cheap and dumpy like the clearance shop:confused3 I did like the Christmas shop though, but sadly didn't get a chance to hit the candy store thanks to the bad buses :(. But I wish we had a Adventure's Club!! That place was so much fun!

Since their are so many real clubs, bars and places to see shows in the nearby area, a PI style area is not a big focus in DLR. Especially since the majority of visitors are locals.

A fun place to relax and enjoy the evening while not themed is the UVA bar, it is in the center walkway of DTD and has great drinks and food and you can sit and people watch under the stars.

You also can see if there is a concert while you are there at the house of blues, that could be so much fun! With the new shopping area opening you might also see more evening activities come in, but not themed in the same way as WDW.

fyi, you cant blame DL for not having as much things as WDW. May i remind you that there is like NOOOOOOOO LAND to expand DTD unlike WDW. However, there will be a competing DTD coming to DL. Its called Garden walk and its on the east side of Disneyland. That should increase more things to do.

Also, DL location has an higher cost of living so some stuff may be more expensive i guess. I know DL CMs get paid more than WDW CMs.

I don't think we are blaming Disneyland or at least I am not, it's the happiest place on earth for me. I would just assume being a WDW vet the differences between there DTD and ours would be very diff as far as having a lot to do. I was under the impression that this is what the original poster was asking about. With that said. This is just my opinion. I love our parks just the way they are! :thumbsup2 ;)

The one major advantage of DLR's DTD is that you can walk to it, making it easier to stay in the parks longer and just quickly duck out for dinner or a snack or a shopping trip. However WDW's DTD is much larger and the World of Disney store is HUGE! Not that DLR's World of Disney is small, but it pales in comparison in size.
