My 3 year old twins have become obsessed with the Eiffel tower. The other day they saw the metal structure that holds power lines and got excited thinking it was the Eiffel tower!
We are going to DLP in about 10 days. We are wondering if it's logistically possible to take some mode of transportation to the Eiffel Tower.
Any ideas? Cost? Time?
Thanks!
Rachel

It is easy to get to by train its about 25 minute journey, not sure of the cost though. Someone here will do though.

From DLP to Bir-Hakeim (metrostop for eiffeltour) is about 1 hour 5 minutes.
Marne-la-Vallee Chessy – RER (A)
direction Cergy-Le-Haut
change at Charles de Gaulle-Etoile (45 min)
to Métro (6)
direction Nation
to Bir-Hakeim (Grenelle) 4 min
Bir-Hakeim (Grenelle) (METRO), Paris 3 min walk to eiffeltour

I went into paris last year with my hubby and 3 children.

Where the train station is in Disney there is a tourist info booth, we went in there and asked about how to get to paris, and we were able to buy our train tickets from them we bought a day ticket so you we could use any of the train/metro as many times we wanted that day. They were very lovely there and also gave us maps of the city and tourist maps for free :goodvibes

We got on the train and when we got to paris and could see the Eiffel tower out of the window got off the train and walked a little and we were there!

Hope you have a fab time my kids loved it

Thank you all so much! I wrote the original post before work this morning and I just got home and found all of this helpful information!
My girls will be thrilled. :) Thanks again! :)

The best way to get there is to take RER line A to Charles De Gaulle Etoile. You can get on any RER train from the station as they all go to Etoile. This journey takes 45 minutes.

From Etoile you would have to switch to the Metro line 6 to Trocadero. You want to get on the one that heads in the direction of Nation. This journey takes about 5 minutes.

From the Trocadero you'll have the best view of the tower. There's a few cafes and lots of places to sit and enjoy the view. There's even a carousel!

It's a 5 minute walk past the fountains and over the river to get to the tower base.

It's worth noting that the journey back is a little more complicated. Get the Metro line 6 back from Trocadero to Etoile. Then the RER line A to Disney. The RER line A splits and heads different ways so you want to make sure you get the right one. To do this, you should notice that there are large boards above the platform. They should have station names on them. One of the last ones will be Marne La Vallee Chessy. When the train pulls into the platform, make sure the light next to that station is lit. If it isn't, it doesn't stop at Disney.

If you know which day you are planning to go and want to go up the tower; I would book in advance. I went last week - the queues seemed miles long and were taking hours. They also weren't selling tickets right to the top because it was so busy. I know it was half term but over the years I have been a few times and there are always massive queues.
I bought my tickets online and we arrived about 15mins before. We still had to wait about 20mins to get into the first lift but it was much better than the several hours wait everyone else had.
The views from the top are spectacular.
Sadly we were only on a flying visit to Paris (1 night) and so we didn't make it to Disney (which I still cant quite believe).:rotfl:

I agree with Happy Tappy - the best views of the Eiffel Tower are from Tracadero. Its such an easy metro trip to get there from Charles de Gualle Etoile.

You can buy a mobilis ticket which is about 13Euros per adult and gives you the journey there and back and unlimited use of the metro on that day.
I think your 3 yr olds would be free on the RER/metro
