We are planning our first trip to DLP for 12 years, we normally go to WDW but due to finances they wont stretch that far for the next coule of years so could i ask a couple of questions please (Im sorry if im repeating)

1. If you book though the online website it seems as though you have to pay upfront, however i heard someone mention that if you book over the phone then you pay a deposit and then pay 60 days before. Is this correct?

2. We are looking to go arounf Feb/ Mar time, is there any reasons why one would be better than the other, and are EMH hours run throughout the year and how long do you need to do everything in the parks? we may plan a day in Paris as well

3. Is it worth booking transportation with DLP as well, or is it cheaper to do it seperately (we plan on going by Eurostar but will fly if it is cheaper)

And lastly, and plaaning tips for an obsessive planner???

Thankyou in advance

When I got quotes I found it cheaper to book transport seperately.

Also if you book online go via somewhere like quidco to earn 6% cashback on the booking they also do eurostar too.

We went March last year and it was busy but think it was because it was easter weekend. We found the weather the same as it was here, no attractions at all were closed. TBh I dont think there would be much diff between march and feb but I cant say def as never been in feb altho am hoping to next year for DD bday so will watch this thread.

1) This is 100% correct. You will only be asked for a 10% deposit if booking over the telephone.

2) I would choose March as it would be slightly warmer :) In terms of timing if it's your first trip I would suggest a minimum of 3 nights 4 days to 'see' most of the parks.

3) I would suggest getting a quote from Disney as well as getting one directly from Eurostar. You'll more than likely save money by booking directly with Eurostar however some people have saved money through Disney.

Thankyou so much for your quick replies, that helps a lot and i think i might even get the hotel booked by the end of the day :thumbsup2 Not sure whether to book the sequoia lodge or go for the value results and us ethe difference for spending money. We do like the pools though so this is a consideration.

Ive not been this excited for a disney trip for years, i love Florida and hope to go back once their are a few changes but having been for the last 5 years im excited for a change. For a WDW what are the things i must see (bearing in mind ive been on rock n rollercoaster about 40 times so thats a must!!!)

Personally I'd go for the cheaper resort hotels and spend the extra £'s on spending money when I'm there but then I know that once we are at DLRP we won't use the pool as we like to spend our time in the parks or eating :lmao:

Hmmm...must see's for a WDW veteran...I would go for Phantom Mannor (different to WDW), POTC (again different), Indiana Jones and the Tempil of Perril (Rollercoaster), The Castle (very well themed and different to WDW), Alice's Labryth (A DLRP exclusive) SM:2 (guess what...it's different to WDW).

In the Walt Disney Studio's I'd suggest the Backlot Tour (vastly different to how I remember the WDW one but not actually that good) Crush's Coaster, Stich Live!, Cars, Armageddon and Flying Carpets, all of which I beleive are not in WDW.

I'd also suggest taking time to explore Adventureland and especially Adventure Island as it really is the most amazing Adventureland of all the Magic Kingdom parks and is really well themed...the caves are well worth and hour or so of your time to explore.

Thanks again

Expecally the tips of what to see. We will definitely will take your advice about Adventueland i am dragging along a sceptical OH who believes the only disney park you should ever go to is in Florida  so it will be nice to show him that DLP has improved on some of the things in the MK/ Studios etc.

The only thing i will miss i think is Splash Mountain but it may be a touch cold to get wet anyway :lmao:

Off the parks, is their anything (other than Paris, of course) worth visiting?

There really is loads around DLRP to do...all depending on what sort of things you want to see.

Firstly there is Parc Asterix a theme park based on the Obelix and Asterix books (an interesting fact...the cost of the POTC ride in DLRP is the same as the cost for the whole of Parc Asterix when it first opened!) You can even get your park tickets for here through Clubcard points!

There are plenty of Château's around (Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte and Château de Fontainebleau) there is the Castle of Blandy les Tours and Provins (A UNESCO World Heritage site)

Disneyland Paris' website itself has lots of information here and Tourism77 also has a vast amount of information on the local region

hehe i can see who is the fountain of knowledge on DLRP and its surrounding areas;) its really good to get the reples so quckly although you may be sorry you started answering my questions, as i said i am an obsessive planner

As we are thinking of booking tonight, i have 1 final question if you can bear it  Would you only get the disney express if you booked your transport and hotel with disney direct? or can you still get it if you book them seperately?

Thanksa gain

LOL! I'm always happy to help.

Disney express can be added on at any time for £15 per person weather you book direct through Disney or if you book through Eurostar themselves. You can even add it on at the Station in DLRP or even at your Hotel if you only want it for the return leg of the journey.

Don't worry...most of us on here are obsessive planners too!

being looking through various websites and it seems as though you can only book the disney express if you book your travel and hotel as a package. Am i missing something as the priced for eurostar are so much cheaper if you do it seperately

No, you're not missing anything - most of us find that booking your hotel and tickets with Disney, and then your travel completely separately, is the most cost-effective way of doing it :) - it can save you hundreds of pounds.

im sorry i dont think i made myself very clear there. I know that it is cheaper to do travel and hotel seperately but i would really like the disney express once we get there an di know that it was mentioned that you can do it seprately however all the sites ive been on suggest that you can only do it was part as an all inclusive package i.e. transport and hotels together but if you cant do it is it really worth the extra money that disney charge for their trnasportation?

Ah, I see what you mean :).
No, Disney express is not worth the hike in price by paying for your travel with your Disney booking. If it costs more than £15 per person increase over doing it separately, its not worth it.

Yes, we are going on the 3rd March for 4 nights at the Santa Fe, we did consider the sequoia however we plan to be out and about all the time so it didnt seem worth it. We will book Eurostar seperately when they become available and add disney express on if possible soo excited now :banana: god knows what i will be like after christmas had been and gone

just another quick question, how far in advance can you reserve dining in DLRP? ad do ou need to put a debit card deposit or pay up fron for any of them? cheers

You can reserve tables 2 months in advance. Thinks like character breakfast and BBWWS I think you pay when you book not sure how far in advance but I was only able to book a character breakfast for November this week.
