I am waiting for DLP to come out with points chart for 2008. I am a new DVC member and I figured they would be out already.

Does anybody have any info on this topic?

We are planning a trip to Paris for anniversary (as you can see in signature) and DLP is a side trip. It is very difficult to plan this a trip for March 08 without the point chart.

Any details would be appreciated. Is it less points to go during the week? How about the hotels? I know Disneyland Hotel is the top dog but I don't think we have enough points to stay there (we need two rooms). How are the other hotels; Sequoia, New York Hotel (although I don't really want to stay at the New York Hotel)?

Thanks, guys!

Hi
I too am anxiously waiting for the 2008 DLP points chart. We are planning a trip to stay at the Disneyland Hotel in January and are wanting to get it all booked. So, although I can't help you with info on that point, being from England and having visited DLP nearly every year since it opened, I can help you with your queries on the hotels. I have stayed in all the hotels and at Davy Crockett Ranch and they are all brilliant.
Disneyland is a bit like Grand Floridian - Victorian elegance and very luxurious
New York - I can understand why you may not want to stay here being from the States but I love it. Very sophicticated with great bars and an ice skating rink in winter
Newport Bay Club is huge and white with a nautical theme. Lovely
Sequoia is a bit like Wilderness Lodge, themed on your national parks. Very rustic and welcoming especially in the winter when it has huge log fires.
They are all lovely if very different hotels and I am sure you will enjoy your trip to our little European park. Please don't expect it to be anywhere near as big as WDW but IMHO it has the best castle, the best BTM and the best Space Mountain. New TOT opens in January too :yay: Have a great trip

Thank you for your response. I feel your pain - January! That is really cutting it close.

Thanks for the info on the hotels. I used to live in New York and therefore it just does not sound that good to me to stay at that hotel (hehe). I think my husband would love the Sequoia.

I am very much looking forward to visiting DLP. We are very used to WDW and go there often. Even though the resort area is quite smaller, it seems very charming. I am looking forward to riding BTM and Space Mountain (they look awesome!). The only thing I am worried about is the difference culturally. I am very used to the excellent service you receive at the WDW resort. When you get used to "Disney service" it is difficult to go to a "Disney Park" and not receive the same service. Honestly, I have no idea if it is different or the same. I will try and go to the park with no expectations and just go with it! I am really looking forward to seeing a different Disney park.

Thanks again.

I understand your concerns. I am sure that you will experience some different ways of doing things at DLP. The cast members should be just as courteous and friendly (if not you would be justified in asking why not!). Remember though that a lot do not have English as their first language. You may well find that the Europeans generally are more 'reserved' than Americans. One thing I love about visiting the states (and particularly WDW) is everybody is so enthusiastic about everything. Also, apart from us British, who seem to make queuing or waiting in line as you would call it a national pastime, Europeans do not understand about waiting your turn!!! You have to be extremely vigulant when queuing at a ride or waiting your turn with a character that nobody barges in front of you. They seem not to understand when you get angry or upset about this, so stand your ground!!!
All this said, you should have a great time and if you have any complaints, voice them to the appropriate people. I am sure they will be dealt with in a way that's acceptable to you. You may be in France but it is still Disney after all. Have a great time :woohoo:

the points for 2008 is the exact same as they are for 2007. you can go ahead and book. i booked mine beginning of september, ms told me that they will probaly stay the same. at the end of september they sent me a letter confirming that the points were the same.

Yes, I have called MS and they told me they are waiting for DLP to release their point charts. MS has not told me I can book a room based on 07 points. In fact, they told me that they are waiting to find out how much space DLP has set aside for DVC.

MS advised me to call weekly and look on the website.

MS tells me they are only booking Paris up to May 15, 2008 right now.
