Our party of 5 is booked on a 3-Night for our anniversary Oct 1. Wanted to do something short so the eldest didn't miss much school. But paying 3k for 3 nights I began thinking we could tour Paris and visit Disneyland there for that price. We fly for free...

I'm torn because with DCL we could have alone time while the girls are in the kids clubs, dine at Remy, etc. Having never been to the parks, I'm guessing there's no service as such. Also, I read the park is being refurbished throughout 2016.

Thoughts?

I've not needed any alone time at DLP with my girls - its go go go all the time, and especially with only 3 nights the time will fly by. Yes the parks are being refurbed this year, so have a look at the closures list for when you're thinking of going.

Still plenty of Magic to be had at DLP, as long as you don't go expecting it to be WDW.

We've never been to any of the parks. Never been interested. The only one that has ever had us curious was DLP.

Think we'll wait until 2017 to visit.

Thank you for your help!

DLRP is quite unique I think - but in a good way. I like to say it's Disney with a 'European Flair'! I agree with DLPDaft - 3 days would fly over but if you are wanting a relax and time away from the children, it's probably not the place to visit! DCL would be more relaxing I'm sure!

A trip in 2017 would be ideal as you'll catch all the rides in their glory (many being refurbed for that reason) AND you'll get all the 25th anniversary celebrations too.

We really enjoyed WDW but felt that DLRP has a quaintness, charm and beauty (and smaller scale) that the WDW parks just don't have (I haven't been to Disneyland although I believe that is smaller). Sounds like it might suit your family if you aren't into the US parks.

I would like to do a DCL cruise but my DH isn't a huge Disney fan so isn't that interested! He'd rather go on P&O or Fred Olsen or similar!!
