I've seen this kind of hinted at in some of the threads, but I'm going ask anyways! We'll be in Paris in mid-July (Adventures by Disney tour) and we'll have a free day before we leave for home.

Is it possible and practical to spend a day at DLP while staying in Paris? Our hotel will be in Paris, so we'd be looking at traveling to DLP in the morning and then traveling back to Paris at the end of the day.

Has anyone ever done this?

it CAN be done. Do you know where your hotel is located? the RER red line goes from Paris to DLRP. Check www.ratp.fr to map out your route - if you are lucky, it's only one train ride. (You can change the site to English)

The trip is 40 minutes from Auber (near Opera and dept stores) or 45 min from CDG-Etoile (near Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysees)

Fastpasses can all be collected at once - no need to wait for a window to open to take the next one. Through careful planning you could make a game plan to visit the main attractions, or those that differ from WDW/DL. I would recommend trying those, and making sure to spend time on things like walking around the castle (inside and out) and visiting the dungeon. Those are the things which make DLRP special

The Studios could be done in 1/2 day in past, but with new attractions coming you may again just want to hit the ones 'unique' to DLRP.

Realize that you won't see everything in one day, but if you plan well you should see the things which make DLRP unique.

I would also consider not doing sit down meals, even though they are part of the special nature of DLRP. I would go for counter service (which can too be crazy long lines!) or have lunch in the Disneyland Hotel.

Others have done the day trip from England so it is definitely possible from Paris :)

Thank-you SO MUCH for taking the time to answer my questions (and many other questions on this site)! You've made me feel much more comfortable with all this.

Paris Metro stations used to offer (maybe they still do) a DLP package that includes RER roundtrip tickets and one day DLP admission.

Just wanted to tell that my friend and me also had only one day in the parks in November, which was very crowded, but because we knew which attractions we wanted to see and where to head first to avoid the crowds we were able to visit both parks, see everything we wanted (which was a lot) and had also time for shopping left. And if you are going during summer you micht also have more time in the parks because they close later.
So with the help of all the tips here on the DIS I think you can have a very fun day at DLP, so I would definitely go for it!:)

We went to DLRP for one day last October.

We only did the park though not the studios as our youngest son was 4 ,and we were told that there isnt a great deal for younger children ?

I would be lying if i said we saw / did everything BUT we did everything that we wanted to do and planned

so i think if you decide which rides you definitely want to go on, and do those first, then anything else is a bonus :)

we got there when it opened and stayed til closing time ! then went for a lovely meal in the village :)

We are going again for a one day in July :)

my brother and i did it a few years back when we were staying as a family in paris and our parents went to versailles for the day.
its totally possible, we had a great time too! you just have to be a bit more concise with what u go on and dont sit around at lunch too much. but other than that, yer you'll be fine!
hope you have lots of fun
